Is Ebay dead for the used golf market or anything for that matter?

Besides my irons and hybrid which were a gift from my dad, I've gotten the rest of my clubs off ebay, and actually the bag too now that I think of it.  No problems there.  I've sold a couple clubs and I'll second the advice to take plenty of pictures and be honest.  TBH I don't worry too much about the fees since I'm not in it to make a profit.  Getting some money in my paypal account beats stuff collecting dust.  I just take pictures of everything I'd want to see as a buyer and package well.

I have some golf equipment to sell and it seems that doing business with ebay has lost its luster. Anyone still selling golf equipment on ebay agree or is this an erroneous assumption? I have heard the fees are substantially high than the past.

I haven't sold but a huge fan of buying. Used golf balls for one. And when I need to replace one of my old Taylor Made iron I can usually find the exact item for cheap on eBay.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

Ebay has millions of buyers--that's what you pay for. IMO it is worth the fee. TST has dozens, at best. Craigslist is good if your stuff is good, but again a limited audience.

Retailers like Second Swing, Quickshipgolf, 3Balls, GlobalGolf (same inventory as 3Balls) and the Callaway Preowned shop are all excellent places to buy. Look for their listings on eBay, since they often ask for Best Offers, where their website prices are firm.

Today, you have to be a savvy buyer on eBay. Know exactly what you want and what it looks like, right down to the manufacturer's logo and colors. That is why online retailers like those above are best, because they are authorized dealers and get their inventory mostly from the manufacturers themselves.

When you sell on eBay, you have to know the rules, your rights, be honest and professional at all times. Take excellent photos (no fuzzy ones) from all angles. Create the ad that you would want to see.  Mark up all your prices by 20% then let the buyer talk you down (no need to even at Best Offer to your listing, since all messages give buyers and opportunity to send you an offer).

Also, as others have said, package your sold items well.  The USPS is your enemy. Know their insurance policy, as well.

NOTE:  Be careful about talking about your eBay business or any other commercial enterprise of yours on these boards. They are very strict about no soliciting or even mentioning of your business.

I dont think its big in the USA at all but I use kijiji a lot.

Ebay became bad to me when it got flooded with Chinese ads. Its a lot more useful to apply the "North America" filter on that site.

Ebay business sounds painful. I just want to sell some old stuff and I am out...

Letgo is just easier and faster. I always try this first as it’s local and requires no shipping. I post my stuff, then someone comes and picks it up.
