@iacas does it matter if I've had an account previously or not when activating an account on this new site?

No, you will create a new account at   Evolvr.com. We will credit you the sign up fee difference since you’re not a new subscriber.

I'll get that done tonight then (for myself at least).

Do I get to keep my instructor from evolvr?  I really like him (although I'm sure the others are good too).

@iacas

Do we just create a thread in the individual instruction forum and then our instructor responds in the thread?

It should be automatically created for you. I think you might have signed up while we were doing a little work, so I made it run and you have a topic now.

Right now, file sizes are limited to about 50 MB. File sizes over 50 MB seem to be failing right now.

Trim your videos, please. :-)

We're still considering this "testing" right now, but you can get in now.

In the past we were asked to submit unedited videos.  Any particular worries about what to do when trimming?

You were?

Just trim it to a swing.

Er, I thought so, but I can easily edit to a swing.  Wow, I was uploading the totality of what my camera captured (usually 50 seconds or so worth).  Thanks.

+1 - both files under 50MBs.

For reference, on my iPhone, at 240fps, 720p, a trimmed swing can be anything from 7 to 20 megabytes. I'd say average is somewhere under 15.

It took me the better part of a month to do so.  Wow, that's bad, even for me on these things.

I'm having trouble figuring out just what I should be doing.  Create a new topic under "individual instruction" and upload the videos there (along with whatever I want to say about it?)

Yes, the plugin is supposed to create the topic for you.

You got the PM, didn't you?

I didn't.  I did get the topic and posted in it though.

Edit:  unless you mean did I get your PM here, in which case the answer is yes, and it answered the questions I had about signing up.

Hi there,

I joined the service 3 days ago but other than getting the payment confirmation email, i've had nothing. Does it just take time for the setup to be created?
thanks!

How did the online lessons go? The reason I ask is I’m just about at the end of my rope with golf. Been playing for 8 years, had 1 round in the 70s and a bunch in the 80s. Every 3 months it seems I go so far off the rails it’s unplayable. I have a group of about 10 guys that I play with.....none of them come nearly as close to “off the rails” as I get. Someone who has never played before would handidly best me. For context I put up an 8 on 18 straight holes (most a bow out after the 2nd ball was lost on each hole). Personally, lessons don’t work for me. Exaggerated motions and “drills” (literally the word pissed me off when I think of the money spent on this shit) only make me worse. Wondering if online lessons will work as im not willing to give another single dollar to a dude with a noodle telling me to grab my 8 iron.

Why not give evolvr a try? https://evolvr.com

You could always post a Member Swing topic here, too. Free, but… you get what you pay for (unless @mvmac or I respond).

    • Day 56 - 2024-11-25 Did the BAD Challenge and hit a bunch more other little shots. This was one of the closer shots.
    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
