  2. The medical article I read said he has nerve damage in his back. That's not going to improve much. So far his start seems to confirm that as much as he wants to play he is just too injured. He should start teaching or make his own golf company. JMHO
  3. I was using the Supersoft and finally bought the Chrome Soft. The CS goes farther than the SS for me. Now I have all these CS saved up for when I run out of the SS but don't want to play the SS knowing I can be getting more distance by using the other ball. Maybe I'll put them in my shag bag. Love the CS, great distance and good feel to boot.

  5. Last I heard was that he's worth approx. 700 million. They estimate he will be the 1st billionaire golfer. Plus he is still being payed by his sponsors. I seriously doubt it's about money. Politics doesn't belong on a golf forum.
  6. Churchill, Eisenhower, all were great men. WWII took 4 years to win. We have been fighting someone for 16+ years. As a 100% disabled Veteran of the Vietnam War I take all this very seriously. We need to bring all our troops home. I have done a lot for my brothers and sisters who are not as lucky as I am. But that's all another story and I prefer to discuss golf at this time. Everyone has their bag 'o rocks to carry with them in this life. Cheers to all. Good one make me laugh.

  11. 41-42 for an 83. Lots of wind today and I had a super round yesterday so I am not disappointed. Yesterday I could only get in 9 but shot a 38. Birdied the 1st hole which makes a big difference.
  12. He has stated the new PXG clubs will be much more expensive. I would never pay the outrageous price they are now. Yes, If I wanted them I could afford them but why? I won't but super overpriced golf clubs. The regular ones cost enough IMHO. As golf rounds go down club prices go throw the roof? Seems backwards. In my experience when expensive items come out after selling some they usually drop in price, not go up. So much for a billionaires golf clubs.
  13. I don't understand the point of playing a game and not keep score. The better you play the better you will score. W/O scoring how can a person tell if they are improving? It is part of the game, period.
  14. I don't think $57.00 including the shaft is not bad. They aren't working for free.
  15. I shot a 39, 43 for an 82. Pretty rusty from the lack of play but I putted better on the back nine. I think I just got tired.
  16. Graphite shafts can out in early 1970s and by 1973 most pros were using them. I am right between a R and an A depending on who made the shaft. I can say for ME the stiffer shafts go farther. They have more torque in the release if you can swing hard enough to bend them properly. JMHO
  17. 58 years of golf and zero holes in one. Hit the pin several times, damaged the hole once on the fly but bounced out. I've given up one a hole in one. I have had them lip out and made so many long wedge shots but no score of 1.
  18. Amazon was one of the first real retailers on the Internet. They are one of the few 'first' that are still on the net. Their huge success is that they are continually transforming themselves. No company I know of does it better than they have. Prime is a good deal with the video as a bonus. I shop there a lot because I live in a small town and the stores don't usually carry full limes of merchandise. For example our local Dick's Sporting Goods store carries Nike but NOT flyknit. Scottsdale is the closest I can get them (100 miles). They cal it one of their 'small' stores. Also when I pay sales tax it's only the State tax, not the city or county so it's less taxes.
  19. Jack Nicholas says to use the softest shaft you can. Greg Norman says to use the stiffest you can. I go with Greg Norman because that's what works for me.
  20. I am currently using Mizuno JPX 900 forged irons. They replaced MP-25s which most will say someone with a slower swing speed like me should go GI. I get this all the time but is not true. The MP-25s were a replacement for MP-59s. I would recommend a good fitting for a proper set of irons.
  21. You say you hit to center of the club almost all the time. If that's the case you could easily move up to just about any iron you want. The GI stuff is for people who can't hit the center of the club consistently.
  22. A stroke is a stroke. I can spin the ball with an iron from the fairway so that's where I want to be. One reason I like the US Open is that they usually have long tough roughs. If you want to win you had better keep the ball in the fairway.
  23. I play at our local muni golf course. They have 36 holes, two different courses. One is an old links course, long, lined with trees. The other 18 holes are a more modern looking, with not very many trees. My golf partner will not play the links course because even though he out drives me by 100 yds at times. I drive in the fairway, he is there sometimes. So for me it is a very important issue. My wedges/irons are in the fairway so I get good spin on them. Of course a lot depends on the length and type of rough you are playing.
  24. I have one in my Scratch sand wedge, 56 degrees and it feels like most any other shaft and spins the ball good.
  25. I live in Prescott, Arizona. It's a town built on top of a mountain. It's high desert country with lots of history. It's been the capitol of Arizona twice. The oldest saloon in Arizona is here in Prescott where 'Junior Bonner' was shot starring Steve McQueen. The weather here is very unpredictable. It can get very windy here. I have woke up to a white day from snow and been on the golf course before the end of the day. It's now cold but will be 60 in a week. e
