Are you a Better Golfer than a Year Ago?
choppineapple replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I just started last year, so I feel I definitely improved. -
Hello from Sherwood, Oregon - yes, it's still raining
choppineapple replied to USGolfers's topic in Welcome, Everyone
Welcome. I'm also in Oregon. I played Chehalem Glenn once and it was nice and a good price. -
I finally got to use my rainsafe. It came in handy as it sits strapped to my bag and when it started raining on a fairway, I was able to quickly unfold it and cover my bag. It worked as expected. It does seem a little thin/fragile but that is because it is light weight and compact when folded. I definitely like it as it covered my bag and not just the the top.

Nike hyperflight golf balls
choppineapple replied to stealthhwk's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I got a box of these from Wildhorse with a stay and play package. I normally use balls I find and so I try a wide variety. With these positive reviews I will try them soon and hopefully don't lose them too fast. The e6 is a ball I liked to use whenever I could find a stray. -
Hello everyone. I am from Oregon, west of Portland. I started golfing last year and am really enjoying it. I came here to learn some things and spend some time.

I use a Scooby Doo for my driver and a R2-D2 for my putter. I don't have any woods or hybrids at the moment so no other covers. I was told that the part of the driver cover that covers the shaft is to protect the shaft from being hit by the other clubs that are shorter.

Golf In The Elements: Advice, Tips and Tricks
choppineapple replied to Golfingdad's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
In Oregon, it rains frequently and a good pair of waterproof/resistant shoes are a good purchase. I also go a pair of gloves for cold weather to keep both hands warm. -
I play with the M4-12. I got it when I had just started playing and did not know much about golf.

Update with your testing. I was thinking about picking up the 3.0 as well for my putter.

Quitting a round early - Why Would You Quit?
choppineapple replied to bkuehn1952's topic in Golf Talk
Only time I have quit in the one year I have played was when the marshal told us it was too dark and we had to leave. I had just teed off and did not see where my ball went so it made sense to leave. We got stuck behind a slow group that had been drinking and were taking a long time. One of the guys fell out of the cart so it didn't look like we were going to finish several holes back. -
I like wearing a collared shirt to play and even to the driving range. I also tuck my shirt in and avoid wearing jeans even if the courses I play do not have that dress code.

Changes in your bag that you are most excited about
choppineapple replied to dsal89's topic in Golf Talk
Mine would have been getting clubs of my own last year. I had just started and played a couple rounds with borrowed clubs and then got my own. There is something about owning your own clubs that made it more enjoyable for me. -
What is the single worst common on-course breach of etiquette?
choppineapple replied to bkuehn1952's topic in Golf Talk
Repairing any part of the course is important. You should keep the course as nice as possible for everyone to enjoy. -
I have played a couple of rounds and had deer walk the course. They just crossed the fairway and ran into the woods. Seeing deer is not that uncommon and I see them crossing the street around my home.

I like to go out as early as possible. I will wait for a later time during the spring and fall when there is more dew on the grass early. I also time it around when it has last rained and the weather forecast. The earlier you start the more golf you can play. :) On work days, the morning is not an option so I book a tee time for around 5pm.

ShortPar4 Golf Wear Box Service
choppineapple replied to Jeremie Boop's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I saw this online as well. I haven't tried it as I have already purchased a lot of golf clothes but I like to see what others are getting. -
Anyone try the Titleist 816 H1 Hybrid?
choppineapple replied to 3puttssuck's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I tried the H2 at a local range to compare it to a demo 913 they had for cheap. Ended up not getting the 913 and will be saving up for the 816H2. I don't currently have a hybrid to compare it to but it was a lot easier to hit it farther and straighter than my 4I. I also liked the appearance from the top. -
I have a stand bag. I use a push cart mostly but like the ability to carry for the driving range. Depends on the stand and push cart, the legs can not let the bag sit straight.
