back in high school i fell in love with the maxfli revolution. cheap, durable, great feel. in my opinion, those damn balls were better than the titleist professionals back then. i'd take a rev tour over a pro v1 any day, but sadly they don't make them any more.

now, i buy recycled balls and find them at night on a particular hole where there's always plenty of pro v's and callaways. it always amazes me how people will pay so much for golf balls, knowing full well they can't hit the ball straight, but i guess i can't complain cause they provide me with great balls!

I miss the Wilson PX3s; discounted down to less than $15/doz on clearance. Now I use Gamers, Zips, or D2 Feels.

Just this year Titleist discontinued the ball I regularly play with.
The DT SoLo. However, since I buy my golf balls from a logo overrun supplier.
I don't have to go without

I miss the Wilson Ultra Balata balls from the early 1990's!

These balls may have been the best I ever played. They were longer than the Titleiest Pro 100's with excellent spin and durability.

I play the Taylormade TP Red ball now and for me it's the closest to the old Ultra Balata's.

The Srixon Hi-Brid Tour. I found one once thought it was a great ball so I found a great deal on e-bay for 3 dozen. I used them for a couple of years and didn't give much thought to it, but when I went to buy more they were nowhere to be found. At the time it was the one ball I was been able to control the spin.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Strata Tour Ultimate 2!

I still find and play them from time to time. Otherwise, I've got a bunch of Bridgestone B330S and Srixon Z-UR to play with.

I miss the Wilson Ultra Balata balls from the early 1990's!

I played the Ultra Balatas too. They were great balls! Much tougher and longer than Titleist balatas, and felt just as good around the green. They wouldn't be able to hold a candle to a modern ProV though, so I can't honestly say that I miss them.......well, except at the cash register!

I miss the DT Solo as well. However, since I don't lose as many golf balls as I used to, I started using used Prov1's. Not sure if I'll stick with the Prov's though. Instead of a DT Solo landing and staying within a foot or so, the Prov's spin back a lot. However, Prov's are MUCH better to chip with.

I used to buy Callaway Blue golf balls. I don't exactly remember if that was actually their name, but they came in a blue box, and had a little blue dot logo on the ball. You could get blue or red and i always got blue while my brother got the reds. This was in the mid to late 90s.

I'm not playing bridgestone e5+. No idea if they are anything alike... but i have some nostalgia for those old balls.

When I saw the title of your thread the very first ball that popped into my head was the Maxfli Revolution. I still think that's the best ball I've ever played. It felt amazing off the driver, crisp off the irons and putted like butta!

Honorable mention goes out to the Precept EV Extra Spin.

In no particular order:

Callaway Red 3-piece
Precept U-Tri-Tour
Precept Powerdrive
Strata Tour Professional

Still have a few of the Strata Pros and U-Tri-Tours and use them once in a while. I'll probably use these all up for the rest of the year (along with my TP Blacks), until we see what happens to balls next year.

Nike TA2 Long

The Vapors to me feel super hard. Same with the Tour D. The regular One Tour isn't bad, it's just like the One Black which I have always been a fan of. This year I got a couple dozen One Platinums on discount and I like how soft they are. I guess when I run out of the Platinums I'll have to go to the Pro-V's.

In the bag:
Ping G5 Driver 9 degree, Ping G10 3-wood, Nike 3 hybrid, TaylorMade R9 Irons 4-AW, Cleveland CG15 56 and 60 degree wedges, Odyssey 2-ball blade putter
