Archie Manning: Peyton, are you busy, I need to talk to you about something, son.
Peyton Manning: Yeah dad, what's up??
AM: "Son, you do realize I suffered for years, playing for some truly terrible Saints teams, right?"
PM: "Umm, yeah dad, I remember. Sometimes I even watch old highlights with my buddy Justin Timberlake on my 65" Sony Bravia TV. Those were the good ol' days, weren't they, dad??"
AM: "No Peyton, they were hell! We sucked harder than Monica Lewinsky at ! I got my ass kicked every Sunday! For what??? For you, son, and for your retarded brother Eli, and that poor gimp Carter! So that you all could live a great life!! I even let you go to Bourbon St. at a young age so you could brag to your friends that you saw boobs before they did!! I did it all for you!!!"
PM: "Dad, ummm, his name is Cooper, not Carter."
AM: "Yeah, whatever, it doesn't matter, he never made it to the league. You don't want to end up like him, (short pause) do you Peyton ?

The Jets will lose to the Colts in the championship game because Indy has basically the best run defense in the league and Jets thrive off that. I think Vikings will be too much for Brees and the saints with Jared Allen raining down on him.

Man ZeusKOTG, don't crush my hopes like that. I will be watching for the thunderous crash when Indy takes their first snap. It will feel like turn 4 at Daytona with 1 lap to go. Manning will go down!

I won't make any picks because, well, I don't want to jinx my team, the Vikings.

As for the folks sick of Favre, I understand, I really do. Before this year, I never cared for him either, especially since he played all those years for the hated Packers.

That being said, it's amazing how my opinion of him has changed.

I think the Saints at home be too much for the Vikings and who could pick the Jets over Manning and Indy. Maybe if the Chargers had won, I would have picked them but not the Jets, they just cant score enough points and rely too much on the run, the Colts will shut that down and make Sanchez try to beat them and he's not good enough yet. The Saints will win it all, should be a very entertaining Super Bowl as it was last year. Saints over Colts 34-31.

Hey, it's part of being a Viking fan. I was feeling pretty decent about our chances when Chester ran the ball to about the 35 yard line w/ a minute to go. BUT, in the back of my mind, I knew this was the Vikings I was watching, and nothing is ever easy or a done deal w/ them. Especially in a big game.

Oh well. It only took an hour after my game for my heart rate to get back to normal. I don't know if I would have been able to handle a Super Bowl anyway. Plus, the Vikes would probably just have ended up being the only team w/ 5 SB losses anyway.

      I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.

      Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
