hey guys, finally had my swing video taped. my swing was a little long here i usually try to stay closer to 3/4, but heres what it looked like today.

I don't find your swing too long. It looks good. Best part about your swing is the tempo is great.

What is your ball flight, and what is your most common miss? I'd perhaps work on getting your weight to you left side a hair faster (you want 85% of it on your left foot at impact) and really letting this shift carry you through impact.

well ive been working on some different things so its probly changed a bit lately, but ive been hitting the ball higher lately. i play a bit of a draw and some of the time it goes straight. my biggest miss is a push. but if my swing plane gets too low its a big hook. so ill go with push.

more importantly, how many balls do you lose hitting it into them woods

not much?

oh and im hitting a 7 iron here. and the thing i am working on is cutting down on how much i slide my hips forward so i can turn them sooner .

no wonder you're pushing it, your hands are going 10 miles back and behind you. try to feel like you're swinging from the inside out, and pull the handle of the club down your target line under and past your body, allowing your turn to pull the club with your arms.

guarantee you nothing good will come of this. It's almost impossible to slide the hips too much.

Your hips do not slide forward "too much" as you've said in other threads. They're close to being the right amount but they could still go forward a bit more. Congrats - you're in the 95th percentile of golfers, maybe higher.

Your left knee kicks towards the ball on the backswing and your right knee sags in towards the ball on the downswing. I'd work on keeping the left knee pointed where it is in setup throughout the backswing (it'll flex more, but it should flex in front of the golf ball, not behind it) and then keeping your right heel on the ground longer on the downswing. You also don't need to flip the hands as much as you do. Work on hitting draws where you feel no "release."

Almost impossible but not entirely. He's close to having the right amount. It's way, way down on the list of things to improve.

hey guys thanks for takin a look.

and when it comes to trying not to slide my hips too far, this is miles ahead of what i was doing before. i dont think the issue is how far they slide but more how far ahead of my hands they are and what position it puts me in. before i started working on it my very first move in my down swing was my hips sliding further forward than the ball even. that would mean that during impact my hips would be very far in front of the ball and they wouldnt turn. it looked really goofy and hurt my back.

If you need more power you could definitely cock your wrists more on your backswing and release them before impact.

whoops, sorry... i meant try and feel like you're swinging from the outside in. you're already swinging inside out.

Nice swing. If I can knit pick a little you seem a tiny bit stiff. Pausing the club at the top of the swing is ok but not pausing your whole body (especially the lower half). You lose momentum this way. Try blending your downswing into your backswing a little. Start the lower body forward a little sooner and before your upper body starts to turn. Keep your arms loose and passive. A power move is to have the club shaft fall towards your body a little bit during the downswing (increasing the angle between your left forearm and club shaft). This will naturally happen if your arms and wrists are relaxed and you start your lower body moving back toward the target first.

Here is a video I made last night.  Just a couple of practice swings with a wedge in my room with some plastic balls.  I finally got a digital camera...wish i would have had it last week when i was actually outside golfing....but now there is 2 feet of snow outside, so this will have to do.
