Are you "ball loyal" during a round?

So here's the question, are you loyal to one kind of ball during any given round?

I tend to want to play one type of ball for a full 18 holes (ie only Bridgestone E6, only Precept Laddie X, etc.). For some reason I have the belief that although I'm an 18 handicap, using different balls will affect my yardages/approach shots/etc. (even though that 5 yards longer that's advertised on the box probably only means for the driver) so I want to use 1 ball strictly for the consistency...

So what do you believe? Are you "ball loyal" or not, and why? Do you think the ball makes a significant difference in one singular round? If you are loyal to one ball, which one is it and why? Personally I go after low spin balls because of my "potentially errant drives."

Yes I am. I stick with the same type of ball the entire round.

It annoys me to change the type of ball for some reason.....gets in my head....OCD?

Not really --- no, actually, not at all...

I start every round with a nice shiny new ball --- recently, I've been playing Wilson Smartcores that I was given for Christmas --- as soon as I lose that, I play 'old' balls in the bag (stuff I've played before or found on the course).

If I make it through 9 without losing a ball (RARE for me), I'll tee up another new one on 10 -- but that's only happened about twice for me!

I figure that until I have a more consistent swing, the ball I'm playing won't matter at all.

I play whatever ball I pull out of the bag.  There is a difference but my game isnt at a level where it makes a huge difference.

I only play one ball during one round. I got two different models I play with, which are pretty much equal, but only one model each round.

I generally play only one brand of ball but have no aversion to playing a different brand in the middle of the round.

I play and practice with the same ball all the time...I believe this is importnat for feel mainly with chipping and putting...but it can also extend to approach shots and the spin of the particualr ball you may be playing...heck this game is hard enough and I do not want to have to wonder what my ball is going to do...I want to know "for sure" if I execute how my ball will act...now if I do not execute then the ball does not matter but I want to give myself every possible opportunity to perform at my best...just my 2 cents.

When I was committed to the Gamer v2, I played it exclusively. Since I've been ball-hopping I try to play one ball exclusively until I move onto another. Once I find a final ball, I will probably play it exclusively.

So, you could say that I am ball loyal during a round.

Absolutely. Why make things harder than they need to be? Pick a ball that suits your game and your pocket, play with it consistently and get to know what it does. Would you carry an iron set made up of six different makes/models/designs?

I am loyal to my ball type during a round, but I'm not really sure why since my golf balls have never really been loyal to me.   They never obey when I ask them to do something, and it seems without any provocation at all they'll run off and leave me to have a tryst with some other golfer out in the brush or woods.     All I ask is a little trust and respect, but they almost never show any.   And yet I stay loyal to them, hoping someday that my blind devotion will be acknowledged and perhaps even rewarded.

Interesting point. I agree and am pretty loyal during a round. The problem is that at this point I'm stocking up on misc. "onesies and twosies" of different balls that I want to use, but I'm OCD.  So I'm going on a golf weekend trip and instead of using the 3-4 dozen mixed balls I went out and bought a double dozen precept laddie x...... sigh....

I carry new Pro V1x, Callaway Tour, and Nike One Tour at most times.

I will usually play the round with one ball. Or at least with one brand of ball - and stay with it. Unless I start out very badly. Then I'll switch.

Allways play a titleist Pro V1 every time i play

99% of the time I am ball loyal.  Right now I am playing the Gamer V2 (saving my ProV 1s I got for Christmas).  Might switch back to the e5.

However, in casual rounds, if there is a par 3 with a 200+ yard carry over water strong wind into my face, I might reach into my bag for an old scuffed ball.

Not so far but only because I'm trying out new balls to see what works for me.  At this point I've pretty much decided on the Srixon Z-Stars but I've played with a number of different balls thoughout my whopping five rounds played thus far.

I will play with one golf ball per round, i like the consistant feeling, mostly on wedge shots to putting. Nothing worse than going from a soft ball to a hard ball and driving a putt 4 feet past the hole.

Usually, yes, I try to use the same ball for the entire round.  In a good many cases it is the same actual ball, not just the same type.  I've still got most of a dozen TM Burners that I will pull out for casual rounds just to use them up, but when I want it to mean something then I just play Bridgestone E6 yellow this year.

Brand loyal? Me? No. I play Titleist mostly but like Srixon, Bridgestone, Wilson and Fuzz! I change balls during a round because it just CAN"T be me than makes the ball go weird places!
