Furthermore at risk of being ripped off, there is a web site that does does not deny being a chinese wholesaler for a product made in china.....

I have a Leupold and 2 buddies have bushnells. All three are easy to use and within a yard of each other. Fwiw, I also like my Callaway upro gps. I use the laser more than the gps, but there are times that the gps provides info that the laser simply cannot.

If you want to save money I'd say find a good used Bushnell or Leopold on eBay.

I did not. I have done various searches for low prices and similar website in the same format pop up every few months. I would bet they are chinese knock offs that they make but I don't know if there is a big market for range finders. It is inviting but I will wait it out and pay for safety.

Bushnell tour V2 here and I love it.  Couldn't be simpler to use.  I don't think you could go wrong with a Leupold or a bushnell...both are quality optics.

My philosophy on golf "We're not doing rocket science, here."

Bushnell V2 user here ... would not hesitate to pay big bucks if I lost it to replace it - I find it indispensible for any shot 200 yds and in.

That is the one I have been planning on getting. I wish I had it yesterday.

I felt that way too but was still leaving the option open.

The bushnell range finders are all made in china. I bought my V2 at a hunting shop near here, and I love it. It is two years old, changed the battery once, no other troubles whatsoever.

I know they are but there are some outfits in china that make shoddy copies of electronics.
