Driver.

Other, older driver to motivate driver #1 to try harder.

3 wood isn't in the bag now.

Nor the treacherous 21˚ hybrid. Both get to look at my bag from the floor nearby until they behave.

4 iron @ 24˚ is broken and trashed. Tree root bent the shaft at the hosel and the head isn't worth saving. Good shot though.

5 iron.

6 iron.

7 iron is broke and trashed. Waggling it at the 11th tee revealed it was deeply dented at the kickpoint, resulting in taking it to my knee and                        subsequently mishitting my 8 iron.

8 iron.

9 iron.

Pitching wedge.

Gap wedge.

Sand wedge.

62˚ LW.

Putter.

Just out of curiosity, what are your distances with these 4 clubs? I've always wondered about 2 hybrids in the bag but could never bring myself to get rid of my 3 and 4 irons. I think I'm in love with the long iron shots theres just something about them for me.

3 Wood - 13° - 230 yds

19° hybrid - 210 yds

21° hybrid - 190 yds

4 iron - 180 yds

These are max distances, no wind. I added the 19° because there is are two par 3s on my course in the 200-215 range that I couldn't reach with the 21°, and choking up on the 3 wood wasn't accurate enough.

lots of woods

15* 215

19* 200

23* 185

27* 170+

5 iron 170ish ( may be replaced by 4th wedge or 2nd driving club)

6 iron  160

I can hit a 3 or 4 iron decent but I can't hit it over a trap and stop it.

I haven't explored the hybrid thing much yet.

I have a 4 wood, which effectively does the job of a 3 & 5 wood. Hit that club about 220. 19 degree hybrid that goes 205, about the same distance as my old 5 wood. A 22 degree hybrid that goes 190, effectively a 3 iron for me. My 4 iron is 23 degrees and I can hit that about 180.

I'm rethinking my bag to try something different (for me).  I'm starting to hit fairway woods better so I'm relying on them more than hybrids when I need distance down the fairway.  My swing speed is average so this seems to be working at the lower lofts.  I removed my 27* hybrid and put my 5i back in the bag.  I'm keeping my 23* hybrid in for now because I like hitting this club but I may consider adding my 4i back into the bag if I can be more accurate with the 4i even though the distance is less.  Gonna do some range work first.  I struggle with my long game consistency so maybe I can improve consistency by spending more time with fewer "long" clubs (Driver and couple of fairway woods).  And my balance isn't all that great anymore so this approach may help.   That's my plan anyway.

I used to carry a 3 and 4 iron but then I suddenly remembered i can't them for beans so...I got Wilson Staff 17* and 21* Hybrids.  then my Nickent 3dx hybrid irons 5-10 +PW.  A Wilson 55* wedge and an Accuspin 60* Wedge.  Oh yeah Driver is a Ping G10 10.5* S flex and an Adams GT2 3 Wood.

After many years fighting it, and watching my friend get an albatross with it, I finally took out the 2 iron and put in a hybrid. I still have the Deuce in the closet, I like taking it to the range every so often. My driver and 3 wood have slightly shorter shafts than normal, but I went with a slightly longer than normal shaft for my hybrid. I used a shaft cut to length for the 19 degree hybrid in my 22 degree hybrid. It's a slight difference, but it helps me hit it far when I went to step on it.

I've only struggled with the 3-wood to longest iron gap only in the last couple years.  For years I could get away with driver-3-wood-3-iron or driver-2-iron because I was rotating 2 really old (relatively speaking) drivers. A modern driver and 3-wood add yards to create an artificial gap.

I have a 3 wood that almost never gets used, a 19* hybrid then 3 iron, 5 iron. No 4 iron.

I have been loving the long irons. last week my only birdie came from an approach with a 5 iron. I have been flushing the 3 iron off the tee lately a good 210 average. Somehow I hit a 240 yard hybrid shot saturday. Idk if it was a flyer or what but I looked at the 200 yard marker a good 40 yards in front of me and said I should be fine (group was on the green) I flushed it and rolled right next to their putts. I immideately drove up apologized. Then proceeded to Birdie the hole :)

Don't ever store your steel wool in the same pocket as your flashlight batteries.

4 iron is my favorite long iron - so much more accurate than any hybrid I've used - especially so off the tee. I use my 3 wood a lot - mine is cut down 1.25" so it's dramatically easier to hit from the fairway. I use it almost as much as the driver off the tee - love the control lability of the shorter 3 wood. I do carry one 19.5 hybrid to bridge the gap between the 4i and 3 wood. I used to carry 3 or even 4 hybrids - I like my current setup a lot better - using only 1 hybrid forces you to really learn that club & get familiar with it ...

Thanks. I used to keep my I.D. in my bag, but then I lost it in a flood.
