I'm gonna be staying in Cherry Grove in July and wanted to play a good track close by. Over the years I have played most of the good courses in the Myrtle Beach area. True Blue, Caledonia, The Reserve, Barefoot resort and all the courses up near Calabash NC.

I heard Tidewater was a good course, just wanted everybody's opinion?

Back in the day when there was "only" 65 courses in Myrtle Beach, Tidewater was in my top 5.

It's a beautiful course.  Several holes are along House Creek (which is basically a big brackish marsh) that have stunning views.  One downside is that driver gets taken out of your hands on as many as five holes.

Tidewater is a nice layout. Usually a little overpriced but it does have some beautiful holes. They had some maintenance issues a couple years ago, but just finished a major renovation and reopened this spring. Should be in decent shape now.

I am playing there next week will be the first time in 5 years. A nice course especially if you can get a decent rate.

I've heard nothing but good things about the course, sounds like a good track. Let me know how it goes.

Great layout, lot of scenic holes. Just be prepared to deal with some dry patches if you visit in July.

Played it ages ago and remember it was a premium course back then my partner and I had to pay extra as we were in MB in a golfweek sort of deal. Enjoyable course and typical of the South Carolina designs with tall pines lining the fairways on some holes, marshland on others. Didn't play well if I recall, but that was my fault, not the courses.

My child got sick our 1st full day at the beach and subsequently took down my wife and myself which resulted in us leaving prematurely on day 3. Was a trainwreck and clubs never made it out of the trunk :(
