Ebay is a great cheap club source.

I bought a 64 at used sporting goods store for $5

Works great for trimming grass under a golf ball

I would think more loft would work even better

If you get one at Second Hand Sports or a similar place, it won't cost much. You can try

it for a couple of weeks, and if hi-loft doesn't work you can trade it in for an in-store credit.

anybody know any cheap wedges with a loft of 66 or more

Ok I have to ask, why do you think you need a 66 degree wedge?

I think the question is more along the lines of what do you think it will do for you that you're unable to do with a 58* or at most, a 60* wedge?

In David's bag....

Hireko has a couple of 68 degree heads. Might contact them for full club assembly, lots of shaft/grip options.

I have one these. I typically use I when I shot side myself. Used it this past weekend and hit it stiff. When I feel I have to finesse a 60*, I pull this puppy out instead and make an aggressive swing. Love this club. I had an extea spot in my bag and this club has saved me a ton of strokes. http://www.hirekogolf.com/golf-components/clubheads/golf-wedges/i128.html

What type / flex shaft did you go with? I am tempted to tinker some with one of the 68 deg club heads but can't decide if I want to build one with a very firm tip shaft or a little softer tip flex. I guess if I go after it with a more aggressive swing I will go the firm/heavier route (i.e. Dynamic Gold type).... But I really like the Robin Arthur x-caliber wedge shafts over at Golfworks but they definitely yield very high launch in the wedges I have them in. Might be too much with 68 deg loft but could be fun :)

I have stiff shafts. Typically wedges have stiffer shafts than other irons. I never take a full swing with this club. It is only for short shots to clear trouble with little roll. This 68* wedge has zero bounce, so full swings could get you in trouble.
