I'm curious, the Planemate had a lot of buzz for about a year or year and a half. I haven't heard much for a while. Have people gotten what they wanted from this? Has the golf community moved on to something else?

It does what it does. I think it's great for some things.

It's not new, it's not in short supply, and people aren't locked at home with nothing to do but practice their backswings in their garages, so of course interest has waned.

The Smart Ball is getting a lot of attention it seems. I tried to order one a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't available until July. I dunno if it's demand or not being able to make enough of them because covid.

I use it, but more in the off season. I’m in playing mode now and practice less than in the winter.

I have a dollar store inflatable ball that I hooked to a lanyard.   But initially started with just a ball between the forearms to get the same training aide.    It sits idle.

Sadly I have a PlaneMate that needs more attention.

The short version? I don't like how it makes people squeeze their elbows together during the backswing, and often, keep them "down" against their chest a bit too much.

A shoulder that is allowed to rotate a bit internally during the backswing can go external during the downswing. Keeping your trail shoulder external during the backswing increases the chances it goes internal in transition.

Squeezing is not an athletic motion, really.
