Anyone here train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ)?

My son (13) recently joined a gym and started training. I've been watching and considering joining myself. It looks like a lot of fun and something I could definitely get hooked on.

Any kind of marshal arts training is not a bad thing one's health, and body.

I'm not an expert but my understanding is that jiu jitsu is the nastiest martial art. The moves are such that you can break the other guy's bones and ligaments.

Until you get so battered and bruised from sparring that you can't go play golf...

Monroe Jiu Jitsu

He earned his first stripe in December and his confidence is through the roof. What a great activity. I have decided not to join yet because I want him to have his own thing.

I did it for awhile. Got promoted to blue belt. Its a great way to exercise and get some extra flexibility, but i was just getting injured too much. My shoulder still hurts everyday because of it.
