I dunno if this was a real tweet, can't find it, maybe it's faked and trolling, but it's funny.Screen Shot 2019-10-24 at 9.54.12 AM.png

Phil ( like DeChambeau) is one of those types who likes to believe stuff on a scientific level yet with no scientific proof of any of it. It makes things more entertaining and really is just a bit of a hobby. Like the ball. No, it wouldn’t take Phil a month to ‘get used’ to a new ball. So with his recent weight loss, fitness stuff I would take any info from Phil with a large grain of salt.

I’m sure he has all kinds of beliefs as to what ‘worked’ for him that most likely have no science to back it at all.

Science has shown that the vertical leap ability is most closely tied to distance in golf.

Phil's "vertical" at Augusta National notwithstanding…

Love Phil.  Yes, take what he says with a grain of salt.  Over the years he has been over-the-top in his amazement with the newest iteration of Callaway driver.   I've learned to take his words on that with a grain of salt and he has learned there is a huge promotional check involved.

I’d have to see that study in detail. I’m wondering if it’s just a matter of general athleticism. The average Joe doesn’t just get off the couch and have a good VL. And a good athlete can probably hit a pretty good drive with some instruction. I can think of plenty of players on tour who doubtfully have an impressive VL. 😃
