It was so refreshing to see a complicated technical achievement pulled off flawlessly. I really needed that bit of good news. I think seeing a live launch just got on my short bucket list.

And two guys left Earth, good decision.....

It was great seeing the U.S. finally getting back into launching astronauts using its own rocket.

I didn't really think about it when I moved to FL, but I was at the golf course chipping area one evening when I looked up and saw a rocket going up. It's REALLY cool to watch.

When I heard that Bob and Doug were the astronauts, I was hoping that we might be getting a new episode of the great white north from SCTV.

I wondered the same thing. I wonder if they said, “Take off you hoser.” At launch.

This kind of blew my mind! I hunted around the dial looking for launch coverage and couldn't find any, so I settled in with the golf re-run. Then CBS cut in with launch coverage, which made me happy. I was so proud to see private industry achieve this level of competence! We had live coverage of images inside the capsule while the thing was still going up! We had crystal clear images of stage separations. The booster returned to Earth landing upright on a barge floating in the Atlantic!

HUH?!!! The technology is amazing!
