PSU only has a 12% of making the playoffs. Interesting about Pitt too.

Michigan is rated way too high!   No way they win the B10.   Cincinnati has an easy schedule.   The winner of Georgia / Alabama has a legit shot I believe.

No, they are ranked right near where they should be. SP+ has them as the 8th best team, and FPI has them as the 5th best team.

Yea, Cinci's schedule is a cake walk from here.

TTUN is awesome. Best team ever. Be a damn miracule if the Buckeyes can beat them. Only thing that matters now.

And OU squeaked  out another win. That was quite a game. Yeah, yeah numbers ..but actually watching, MI vs NEB looks like slow-motion compared to OU/TX. Also enjoyed watching Iowa beat PSU.

Against an unranked team and for the first time Saban lost to a former assistant coach.

The mess of this is really silly Cincinnati. Social Media/charts get in the way. Cincinnati has a stroll down Candy Lane. They will probably make the top four and then get obliterated when they actually play a true power team. Eye tests and dynamics get lost in the tainted numbers. Oh that team is averaging 8.9 yds/carry…yeah, against who? That’s important. And asking what truly does a team have to do to make the top four? It matters. Unfortunately things like this happen with Cincinnati and though it may seem deserving, it’ll be a wasted spot when the get humiliated by an Ohio State, OU or Georgia.

Cincinnati should’ve beat Georgia in the Peach Bowl.  Choking it at the end, they lost by 3.  Yes, the AAC is not great but I wouldn’t sleep on UC.

I think they should give undefeated non-power 5 teams if there is a one loss power 5 team.

I think Cincy, hanging with Georgia in a bowl game helped their cause.

If OU wins out, they are in. If Georgia wins out, they are in. That means that Alabama would have two losses, and I think they are out. I think who ever wins the Big 10 is in, one loss or no losses. I am not sure about the Pac-12 or ACC, they are dumpster fires right now. Your best team is Wake Forest! The Pac-12 needs to have Oregon win out. If they lose another game, no Pac-12 team will go.

1. Georgia
2. Big 10 Conference Champ
3. OU or The other OSU team from the Big-12 if they are undefeated
4. Cincinnati (if undefeated) or One Loss Pac-12 Champ or One loss ACC Champ or One Loss Big-10 Champ

I don't think Alabama can get in if they lose to Georgia. I think there will be a bigger chance that a 1 loss B-10 (who's lose is from the conference championship game) goes instead, and the Big-10 conference champion.

Example, Georgia, Ohio State, OU, Iowa (loses to Ohio State in the Big-10) Championship game if Cinci is not undefeated.

I like how Ohio State's schedule is lining up for them.

The road that’s left for OU and Ohio State is considerably more difficult than for Cincinnati. Teams evolve and wild stuff happens, like OhioSt losing to Oregon. But OhioSt has played well since and OU pulled off quite a win from their rival after being down 21pts. OU still has to deal with OSU, TCU and maybe even Texas again. OhioSt has to deal with PSU, MSU and Mi. Meanwhile Cincinnati can just sip on sweet tea and waltz into the top four for good. Just doesn’t sit well with me. Hell Georgia has to play a damn good looking, undefeated Kentucky.

Funniest thing I've read in a while.  TTUN has no chance.  Yes, TTUN beat Nebraska, but they struggled and by the way, who has Nebraska beaten?  Also, what is "miracule"?  All I know is it would be a miracle if TTUN were to beat OSU.

Ok. Thank you very much for correcting my spelling.

I guess this means of communication isn't the best for sarcasm. Though I would have thought that astute people like yourself may have picked it up.

    • The putting green itself is fine. It's the same green we have here. They just need to learn how to chip "into" the grain instead of just down-grain all the time. You have to hit it solid. The launch monitors and the simulator software are garbage right now. Nobody wants to say anything bad about the LMs because Tiger is a partial owner or something. The software has 3Ws stopping in ten feet on the green, and balls bouncing all of 11 yards after flying 311 in the fairways.
    • Explain this:   Send 3 and 4 pence we're going to a dance.
    • Although fun to watch on a winter night, I don't think the simulation is anywhere near accurate. Watched Kevin Kisner hit a shot onto a green slope that would not roll back. When they got to that spot, they couldn't place a ball there without it rolling down the hill. Had to move to another location. The greens remind me of the pooltable-like surface of a Mini Golf course. Balls just take off and roll away. Chipping from off the green seems tricky on the surface they use. And what's with Tiger spitting during the round? It's an indoor carpet. Don't know why atheletes need to spit outdoors, let alone on an indoor carpet surface.
    • Maybe this is what you were getting at?  Doing some math. Comparing JumboMax versus Tour Velvet, standard size in both.  I got the force required using the JumboMax grip, to achieve the same rotational acceleration as the Tour Velvet, is about 1.37 more for the JumboMax grip. Interestingly, the Jumbomax grip is about 17% larger than the Tour Velvet, and 17% lighter for the standard size. I just substituted out the radius and mass of the JumboMax as a ratio of the Tour Velvet's mass and radius. This allows me to cancel out the mass and radius and get a ratio for the force. If you need 100 (force units of your choice) to achieve a certain rotational acceleration, you will need 137 (force units of your choice).  There was another thread on the forum about offset, where it basically just delays closure by some stupidly small amount. A lot of fun math there.  Most golfers have to go from about 90 degrees open clubface at A4 to square at A7. So, having a grip that requires more force to close that clubface might not be the best idea pending the golf swing.  A question is, since the clubface is open at A4, and square at A7. Does that mean you want most of the closure to happen from A4 to let say A6, and not A6 to A7, for better consistently (less timing at impact). Just a thought.
    • This reminds me of the old game Telephone, where someone tells a story to someone, that person tells it to the next person, and after a few re-tellings you see how badly mangled the story gets.  Most golfers learn the rules in a similar fashion, learning from someone who really doesn't know the rules themselves.  This isn't really helped by the fact that many golf professionals aren't all that knowledgeable about the rules.  In addition, most golfers have been told that the Rules are SO complicated and SO difficult to read that they never try to read for themselves. Now, having vented a bit, is there anything in particular you'd like to read?
