Have 8 players playing 3 rounds together. Need a recommendation for the event besides just individual net scoring or point quota. Could be based on individual play or 2-man teams. Thanks

@DaveP043 Can give you some good advice.

Could try this:

Blind Nine
Sometimes called Blind Hole, Blind Nine is a scramble tournament in which only nine of the 18 holes count in the team's final score. The catch is that the teams don't know which nine holes count until after the round is completed. The tournament organizers usually wait until all teams have teed off before randomly selecting the nine holes whose scores will be used.

If they all got legit handicaps and you can split it relatively even, you could do a Ryder Cup style event.

Each player will play all players once in a random draw 1-6, 7-12, 13-18 on day one and two or all 3 days.
Players can play on segment against Par, if needed.
Players receive one point for a win, 1/2 point for ties, zero points for a loss.

If using two rounds on day 3, Seed top six players and they play against each other.
Points can be reset or combined for total results.
Seed 7 & 8 play against each other for a small prize also if you like.

Set an entry and payout per your desires.
I developed a spreadsheet which will calculate results years ago.
I used it for a 50 player event over a season duration, but will work for solo round calculations.

I like the idea of 2 person teams.  You can re-shuffle the teams each day.

Day 1: 2 man net best ball

Day 2: 2 man net Alternate Shot (if you want, you can modify it with each teeing off, selecting the bet drive and alternating from there. Or go with straight alternate)

Day 3: 2 man net scramble.
