Okay, I'm a fan of the limited edition stuff.
I've purchased at least one "limited edition" driver in my life. I've got 3 different pairs of limited edition True LinksWear Shoes. So, I would say I'm pro-limited edition golf equipment. But for some reason, this one just doesn't do it for me.

Firstly, this putter (regular edition) is now selling everywhere for ~$199. But this version is 500 bucks. The other issue is it just doesn't seem unique or interesting enough to make me say "Wow".

Am I wrong? What do you all think? Would you be interested in a Limited Edition Dustin Johnson Masters Inspired Putter? Let me know.

I don't get it at all, just seems like an overpriced Spider. But I don't collect golf stuff, so maybe there is something about this that a collector would want.

What will this putter mean to you in 1, 2, or 3 years from now? Will it hold it's value?

No.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Nice, very puny.

I like DJ as much as the next guy. But in a couple years are we going to be looking back at his Masters' win as "One for the ages"? I don't really think so.

So, unless you are just the biggest DJ fan out there, or for what ever reason the 2020 Masters really meant something special to you. I don't feel like this Spider is "Special" enough.

Oh, and one other thing.
The Taylormade Spider putters are notorious for the paint chipping. If you buy this putter to be used on the course, it might be kind of sad to watch it's paint slowly deteriorate over time.

I’m not fond of the look either. Looks like the tail end of a 50’s Chrysler.

I gamed a TM Ardmore, similar to the one Tiger used for a bit, and the red paint started chipping off prematurely. TM definitely has paint issues, imo.

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
