Why Is My 4 Iron So Much Longer Than My 5?

It’s not the angle distorting it either. It’s like almost an inch longer. I made sure I pushed the grip all the way down when I regripped it. That’s 6, 5, 4 irons.

It should be 1/2” longer. What are the specs?

Was the set purchased used? Maybe re-shafted to wrong specs. That would drive me nuts.

5 iron might be cut down as length looks to be roughly that of the 6 iron. 4 iron to 6 iron looks to be about 1”, which should be about right. 1/2” difference for each would seem correct.

Measure the length of the clubs, it could be that a longer shaft was put in the 4-iron.

I agree, the 6 & 5 look too close in length, which may distort how much longer the 4 looks.  But the 4 still looks a bit longer even with that.

@nevets88 Curious if the distance gaps are good between those clubs?  If you were fitted for those irons, maybe the 4 is a bit longer purposely to help (e.g. getting the lower lofted iron some speed to help get the ball in the air)?
