Haven't been to a golf store in ages. Sold a couple iron sets I had sitting around and bought Tour Edge Exotics XCG6 2-3-4 hybrids and a Tour Edge Exotics XCG7 Beta driver. Driver came today. Used but in good condition, probably will have to get rid of the shaft but I'll try it as is and see how it goes.

You are a smarter man than I @treebound. I have been telling mylsef for the last 2 seasons to grab one. Sadly I don't make the investment and instead make small purchases for other golf related goodies.

Just ordered a sky pro swing analyzer.  very curious how much it will help in identifying my swing characteristics and if I can use the data to actually help my game.

Bought a box of 22 stinger spikes clearanced out at $2.50 only to find that they are "large thread" which is an obsolete pattern.

Made up for it with the purchase of a promising 4-club grab bag from 2nd Swing on Ebay for a winning bid of $1.25 (+$9.99 shipping).  Includes a Tommy Armour 855 460 driver (these were decent as they came with a real Titanium head and Aldila microcarbon shaft) which will be perfect for my "always in the trunk" bag.  Then there are the throw-ins: a ladies Big Bertha Steelhead driver, which actually represents an upgrade for the wife's bag (not that she ever uses it) so it's a keeper; a lefty Purespin "Recrystallized Diamond Face" driver which will be worth giving to my left-handed rarely-golfing engineer friend for a few chuckles; and then a crappy old steel-shafted Cobra driver...which I just realized is a probably the same model used by Tiger Woods in the '97 Masters (King Cobra deep-face) when he put on a performance never before seen or since equaled with a 326 yd driving average.

Think about that, for all the claims of +17 yds due to longer and lighter yada yada, Tiger Woods was bombing 350 yard drives with an original King Cobra playing at 43.5" with an X100 steel shaft and a Titleist DT90 ball.  Better then he ever hit it with his Titleist 975D, Nike Ignite, SQ Tour, VR Tour, Covert, 20XI ball, Nike One Tour, and on and on.  It boggles the mind.

Brand new AP1's 712 graphite, I didn't look for them, but a brand new, full set, still in wrappers came available for £250, they found me!

Sold a used bicycle and put the money towards a new Cobra Amp Cell S 10.5* driver. Was coin flipping between that and a used Titleist 913 D2 but I was hitting the Cobra a little better and more consistently.

While at the pro shop to grab some new gloves, I spotted a Taylormade Jetspeed driver for cheap (89.00) I inquired about it, the owner said it was a demo, only a few times, goth the tool, and head cover, and it comes with the factory warranty..Oh, got the stiff shaft. I'll be trying it out in a few hours.
