How far do you drive your car to get to the course?

A dew years ago I read that the average golfer drove 19 miles to the course for a round of golf. With gasoline being so expensive. How far are you driving for a regular round of golf?

The course where I'm a member (not the nicest course in the area) is only about 5 miles from my house. That's probably the main reason I'm a member there. Gas prices are just way too out of hand for my liking, although it is down 40 cents or so the past week. :/

One of the 3 courses I play regularly is 1.5 miles as the crow flies but 7 miles by car; next ones are 8.5 miles and 18 miles.

My club is two blocks from the house. They don't allow non-club carts or I would have bought one already and put it in the garage and drive that over there.

How far do I drive my car to get to the course? I usually drive it all the way there.




5.57 miles to the parking lot of my home course. 1.07 to the closest public course, and 4.07 to another one. I work at my home course so I get really cheap golf there. I almost never play at the closest course as they are a bit on the pricey side, and the the other one is ok, but nothing special. On Monday I drove 140 miles to play. $30 for the golf... $40 for gas.

Mine is 16 miles round trip but I drive there for work anyways.. If I'm not playing my girlfriend lives right up the neighborhood so it's usually 9/18 or her house after work.

I drive over the hill and it takes about 15 minutes or about 7 miles.

My record times to the two courses I usually play are 47 seconds and 1 minute 9 seconds.

Currently my home course is about 2km away from where I live in a straight line or 4km by car. Due to work commitments I'll be moving house in a few weeks and will be living less than 2km's drive from the course I grew up playing as a kid. No excuses for me not getting out and practicing before and after work!
