I have played baseball for 20 years, and this is the first year I am taking golf seriously. Right now I shoot in the mid-high nineties. My goals for 09 are as follows:

After shooting 90 on the nose last week, I played yesterday and hit the magical 89! Rancocas Country Club in Willingboro, NJ. Middle tees, 6144 yards, rating of 70, slope is 124. No mulligans, played everything where it lied and putted out. I still hit 38 putts, so I need to bring that down. Driver was fantastic all day.

What's in my bag:
9.5 degree FT-iQ Tour with x-stiff Fubuki shaft
C455 3-Wood
Apex Edge CFT Hybrid Set w/stiff graphite
Voke Spin Milled 52 deg. Wedge Parallax 56 deg. Wedge Vokey Spin Milled 60 deg. Wedge White Hot XG 2-Ball Lined putter B-330 Tour balls

Move to country club, playing w/experienced low handicappers, tougher course.
1) Brake 80 at home. Did it last year on public courses. Good progress
2) Learn finer points from experienced members. Good progress
3) Take 2nd lesson. Efficiently incorporate changes. TBD
4) Filter out distractions when whacking it. Some progress
5) Keep enjoyment #1 reason for golf. Good progress

Hit under twelve handicap in a year. Started playing in July, had a couple of 60+ stableforth point rounds (still sitting at 36 handicap for competition :).

My original plan for the past winter was to get my swing more inside-out as I have been hitting minor slice as long as I can remember. Unfortunately I experienced a major problem in my leg and had to undergo an operation which has prevented my winter practice altogether. Gradually I am getting back in shape but have to be patient yet with all kionds of movements and exercises.

Due to this misfortune my goal this year is to score at least one good round, i.e. to or below my handicap. There is challenge enough.

I've not played in a few years, but I've picked up some updated equipment and am really excited about getting back into the game. All of that said, my goals for this season are:

1. Break 90
2. Become more confident/consistent with long irons
3. Go a round without a single three-putt

I've not played in 6 yrs... and then I was a high 90's, low 100's player. My goals are to spend some time with a pro and learn to properly swing a club, purchase new equipment based on some research and the pro's recommendation, and play a few rounds with my friends.

    • Day 85 - Played 9. Driver was solid, approach shots were pushed, chipping/pitching was better, putting was rough.
    • Day 514, March 28, 2024 Quick ten minutes while waiting for the wife to come home for our trip.
    • Day 262: did a stack session. Worked on rehearsal swings during rest breaks.
    • It's been a little more than a year since I can last remember hitting golf balls and today I just got my second cortisone injection in 11 months. I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
