Indeed Tigers opponent seemed to be very nervous and didnt get his game together until late in the round. So nothing special there from Tiger, but i´m sure he can step it up if he needs to.

I say Tiger either wins the event outright, or he loses in the 2nd round to Tim Clark 3 and 2.

Called it. He lost 4 and 2, oh well. But I had him losing to Tim Clark in my pool! Awesome! I wanted him to win though....

Tiger played poorly

Clark played to perfection. Tiger was late on most of his shots and didn't really make the clutch putts that he needed. What surprised me was that Tiger said he was happy with his ballstriking today, saying that he only missed one 8 iron and one driver, but I felt that he missed so much more than that.

McIlroy hasn't convinced me in the first two rounds, but he's made it so far. Played some great golf in the end today though. Rory vs Tim can be a close match if both play like they can.

Would've been great to see Villegas vs McIlroy.

Yeah I didn't get that either. He missed greens with short irons yesterday and today. His driving, even with a 3W, was bizarre at times, finding bunkers and the rough on fairly generous fairways...

So sure, he may have hit the ball solidly, but he either hit it solidly dead sideways fairly often or with the wrong clubs.

If Tiger won today, and than again tomorrow there would've been no doubt that he'd be ready, but personally I had him losing to McIlroy next round anyway.

As alluded to earlier, Tiger's round today is a perfect example of good ball striking not necessarily equating good results. He played like he hadn't played competitive golf in eight months. But that was some hole-out from the sand on #15 -- awesome.
