I voted putter.
If I have a putter in my hand I'm safe. I can't slice/hook/chunk/skull or shank a putter, so I love it, lol.

My Golfsmith Enterprise putter, hands down. There are other clubs that I like, but the putter has to win in this poll.

I have a Hogan 4 Wood (made of wood), I've had it for over 35 years, I hit 250 yds, and staright as an arrow.

Eventually, I'll get the hint and stop advertising, which is against the rules.

For me, it's the driver no doubt. In my opinion there is nothing more rewarding then stepping up to the tee and striping one 275 yards straight down the middle of the fairway. Some say putting because it's how you finish the hole and I say you can't really finish what you haven't properly started.

i started to say my cobra 3-wood, but there've been days where it's done the epic fail, so i went with my putter. it's just a cheap, off the shelf wilson putter, i think i paid $35 for it brand new, and it's got a feel to it that i have never been able to find in any other putter. 3-putts are few and far between for me with that putter.

I voted 7-iron. It just seems like I have so much confidence in that club. I hardly ever mess up a 7-iron shot. If I just had as much confidence in the rest of my set, I'd be a lot better golfer.

I love my 8 iron because from about 150-160 in, I am always pretty accurate with it and can get it to stick on a green.

titleist vokey wedge I love it because it is the only titleist club in my bag now and I just feels so much better than any other club that I have. That and I love hitting lob shots and sticking the ball on the green.

I'm amazed at how few seem to list their putter as the favorite. I'd bet that if you did this poll among Tour players, the results would be better than 75% choosing the putter. For the rest, a club is a club is a club, but a putter is all about feel, and that makes it a more emotional relationship than any other club. You hear stories like the one about Ben Crenshaw who would reserve a second seat on the plane just for his putter (I think he called it "Little Ben").

Most players I know are very possessive of their putters.

I had to go with the 5 Iron. Im more consistant with this than any other club. The driver is fun to bomb 275 yards, but I prefer the 5 for whatever reason.

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
