She went to school and trains in USA, so, she is an American. Period.

One more thing.

If you live here and embrace the American culture and you want to be an American, you are an American.

I hate it when people come to this country and don't give a damn about our culture. If you're going to live and benefit from living here, be an American... or at least pretend like you appreciate why you CHOSE to live here.

I can't believe four people responded Korean.

First time I've seen this thread and I can't even believe such a question could be contemplated. I'm usually not in any sort of politically correct crowd but this is ridiculous.

:doh::doh::doh:

If she "looked" like a "typical" Caucasian nobody would know or care where her parents immigrated from.

:-D . Very bizarre Bump. And to answer the original question. She is as American as me. I was also born in the US. End of story.

I voted Korean because I want to see if the networks change the flag based on this TST poll.  Its our call, after all, isn't it?

All that is not important. What important is could you concentrate on your putting line if she was putting on tbe same green as you yes or no? I am a no. That technique she has is far too distracting. I might forget to putt even.

I think I read some where that at one time she held duel citizenship, but she had recently renounced her South Korean citizenship.

She's 100% American.

I read somewhere that she once made it on the green on a 590+ yard par 5 in two shots. :surrender: Not to shabby.

The LPGA is lucky to have her.

Ridiculous question which you answered in your own post.  She's American unless you feel Hawaiians are not Americans.  But your question now has me "confused" if I'm American (or not) since I have a mixed heritage which does not include Native American. [sarcasm alert]

Sorry to be anal but it's "dual" not "duel".

Unless they were battling to see which one she would keep.

Well if that's the only mistake I made that day, I still did pretty well. Did you forget a comma?

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
