Just wondering if you guys did anything significant to commemorate your first(s). Maybe you framed a scorecard, or cased the ball? Tell us about your big moment(s).

I was 7 and got my first birdie on a 348 yard par 4 hole on Terra Greens GC in East Stroudsburg PA. I have the ball with all the stats of the day, hole, yardage and clubs I used. It's in a clear square case on my mom's dresser. Nothing to commemorate an eagle...but i do have my ball written again on it with a permanent marker with stats to commemorate my double eagle with the signed score card with the two witnesses (both aren't framed or anything). The albatross was on the par 5 480yd second hole with a driver/7wood.

Would be cool to have a wall mount carved to the shape of an eagle

My grandfather has in his basement a wall of shelves that he keeps all his birdies/eagle balls from 'top 100 courses to play before you die' courses...and a sign over top he had custom made that says, "Heavenly Shots from Heavenly Courses"...always thought it was pretty cool

Don't remember first birdie or first eagle.... too much water under the bridge since then. Both would have happened more than 20 years ago. First ace was also 20 years ago but that I do remember. I did intend to save the ball, but somehow it got mixed up with some others in my bag and I couldn't tell which one it was.

It is memorable for costing me $200 in the clubhouse afterward (although since it happened in the club championship I won $1200 from the hole-in-one pot ).

My first Eagle was a hole in one on a 130yard Par 3! Luckily there was someone with me at the time as no one would have believed me,have not got near a hole in one since or a eagle for that matter
It was a pure fluke of course but sure hey they all count!
I got him to take a picture of me taking the ball from the hole, but never even thought of keeping the ball,I still have the scorecard somewhere in my Dads garage

My first eagle was on the 10th hole par 4, 360 yards. Holed out from the fairway from 100 yards. The ball is currently sitting on a shelf in my bedroom.

Never had an ace (or an albatross / double eagle). Holed out for eagle on par 4s a few times, but never from the tee.

My first birdie was after playing for about a month. On the first hole (a par 5) I pitched one in from the trees. I was just trying to get it towards the green - didn't see it go in and didn't keep the ball (probably lost it a few holes later). I didn't even realize it was a birdie because my brother had the scorecard.

My first eagle was almost as flukey. I holed out from the fairway (5 iron). It was at dusk and we all thought I must have flown the green into the long rough. We assumed the ball was lost until the first person removed the flagstick.

I don't remember the first time I putted in for eagle. I did that way more often when I was young(er) - way more agressive. These days I hit more greens but only ever hole out from just off the green.

I have the scorecard from my first round under-par in a shoe-box full of memorable things from growing up. I still remember playing the 18th hole that day and actually making birdie on it to shoot -3, putter was on fire. Didn't save anything from my first eagle, but remember it well... approx 500 yard dogleg right, driver-5wood to approx 10 feet and made the putt. Both of these happened 15 years ago or so. Haven't made an ace, but will keep that ball.

Don't remember the first birdie. Remember the first eagle, but I never thought it was a super big deal to commemorate or anything, so I didn't keep the card or ball. I kinda figured, why make a hoopla? I'll be doing it more and more later on anyway. he he.........

I have yet to get a hole in one. I've been two rolls of the ball away from one, but if/when that happens, the ball is getting saved.

I save every scorecard in a box on my fridge. I have never made an eagle or hole in one, but my first birdie came in a tournament and that skin won me $75. I didnt keep the ball though. My first eagle will be a keeper though.

    • Day 608 - 2026-06-01 Played… 15 holes. Skipped 6, 7, and 8 to pass some groups.
    • Day 272 6-1 Larger focus on wrist arching tonight. Getting chest through with speed was the secondary. Foam balls
    • Has anyone played around with "My Strategy?"  It seems they've revamped it -- I remember not liking the interface a while ago.  Today I went over a course I play semi-often and was able to designate a tee box for each hole, then choose a a club and target direction and it put my scatter pattern for that club off the tee, showing average SG for fairway / rough / bunker (if appropriate) / green.  I could change the club and see how another behaved.  It wasn't clear to me what I can gain from this, or where the follow-up shot supposedly originates, but it is neat to look at it on a map. What motivated me is that I'm debating taking less than driver on one of the par-4s next time I play this course, probably 4-Wood.  I have found myself, sometimes off of a good tee shot, playing my second shot from the tree line, as the fairway slopes strong left to right.  I don't think I've even had a near-GIR on that hole in 2026 (6 rounds at this course), and it's my second-worst strokes-gained hole, playing to an average of 5.3 for me -- the only worse is a hole where I've hit an O.B. en route to a bogey and also managed a triple bogey another round. Scattering my 4W pattern off that tee shows a higher strokes gained, but then again, hitting that club is far from a guarantee I won't fade it a bit and roll into the tree line, now further back from the green.  And I haven't hit a bunted driver in a while, maybe I need to practice that shot, but that isn't something this feature can show (since it doesn't know why my tee shots ended up where they did).  Then again, it might not know where I was aiming for my tee shots either. On a related note, I am finding their course analysis tool interesting, especially when I can sort by strokes gained average and also determine which hole(s) I'm playing to what stroke average.  Interesting that the #2 and #4 handicap I'm averaging under bogey, while 5-6-7 and 12 handicap holes I'm averaging over bogey.  The hole I described a moment ago is the #12 handicap.
    • Day 28, June 1.  Went to a course near me while running errands to practice putting.  I wanted to chip also but their chipping green was closed. I did my 4' and 6' drills (around the clock, but with the goal of making each putt twice, for a total of 24 from each station).  On the 4' putts, I took a total of 32 putts to sink all 24.  I'm very happy with the 75% make rate (scratch one-putt at that distance is 80%, bogey 65%). For the 6' putts, I took a total of 52 putts, for a 46% make rate (scratch: 55%, bogey 39%).  That's an improvement I'm happy with, and I'm aiming to do this drill once a week for a while, now that my putting (over the past five rounds) is better than the 10 hcp baseline (I'm a 10.7? 10 point something as I type this), which is far better than 6-7 months ago when I was losing strokes to the 25 handicap baseline (I really should write up what I did to improve over this time).  Amazingly, on the 6', there was one putt (approximately coming from 10:00) that I didn't sink at all in 4-5 passes and then was the only coin remaining, and it was face up.  I could've sworn it would break right, and I kept missing it left, and when I finally aimed straight in, I made two in a row.  Maybe it was one of those rare (?) double-breaker 6' putts.
    • This is feeling like the club is at P2. To get lower launch angles I have to feel like I’m dragging my hands through impact just delofting the crap out of the club.  This is trying to stop at P2.5. The consistency in launch angle gets worse. Contact gets worse.   trying to go P3, things get more volatile. The more I increase my swing length the more I can’t lower the dynamic loft.  Edit: these are with my 56 degree.
