Have you seen this page? Is this not the greatest website in the world? The layout and design is something I've never seen before. Gorgeous. The content is plentiful and readily available. You can see video highlights of any player any day! That is just nuts. I didn't get to see any of the live broadcast today. But just watched Phil's crazy run on 13, 14 and 15 today. Great resolution, no commentary, just pure golf shots. Awesome! Way to go whoever created this!

The only thing I dont like about that site, is that I cant click on the back rounds to save them as my desktop. The pictures are amazing.

Load a page where you like the background image and would like to save it. In your browser, view the page source ("View -> Page Source" in FireFox on my Mac). From here, search for id="background". You'll see a line that looks like this;

It's OK I guess, but I don't like the backgrounds. The pictures are nice, but half black and half picture doesn't suit me all that well.

It would be a major plus if they allowed the entire world to watch the live stream, not on in the US. It would require larger bandwith, for sure, but I recon they could afford it.

I've read from credible sources that it's 100% a licensing issue, not a bandwidth issue. They sell the rights to the broadcast globally - they can't step on the toes of their TV partners (who have sold ads during the broadcast) - by letting everyone stream it.

There are lots of websites that provide all big golf tournaments free of charge to anywhere in the world. Sometimes it is just a question to find the right proxy. In my country a large nr of people watch these webcasts, even through 42" TV for free.

BTW: I found that the best way to find the specific line of code was to go to Edit>Find (that is where it is in Flock) and type in Background.

Also in Google Chrome it is under the menu that looks like a piece of paper, then in Developer> View Source. In Chrome the image URL is actually a link you can click on that will take you right to the picture.

Oh yeah... This post just reminded me of another (far easier way) to do this in FireFox. Click on "Tools -> Page Info". All of the images are listed under the "Media" tab. You can scroll through all of them one by one. There is also a very handy "Save As..." button. Doh! I knew this was there, I'm not sure why I didn't think of it last night.

The website is an improvement over their previous one.

The background image quality is really good and I've saved about six of them to use for backgrounds. I have Magnolia Lane as my iPhone background.

REALLY have been enjoying The Masters iPhone application.

The iPhone app is also gold and upscaled brilliantly on my new iPad. Nothing like sitting in the cube at work with the iPad and a nice 9" screen with coverage of Amen Corner, etc.
