1. Mac O'Grady.

2. Steve Elkington. 3. Nick Faldo. (The first two are serious.)

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

I agree with Erik, Mac is #1.

#2 is not so easy, I think I would like a green reading lesson with Tiger.

1. Mac O'Grady.

In fairness, you could look at their careers:

Mac O'Grady - 2 PGA/Euro tour wins, 0 majors Steve Elkington - 10 PGA/Euro tour wins, 1 major Nick Faldo - 39 PGA/Euro tour wins, 6 majors Swing mechanics are one thing, but Faldo knows how to score. He was also famous for being overly analytical. His golf schools did teach Rory McIlroy after all.

Nick Faldo? of the golf channel? He cuts all the players swings at one time or another..I understand now if he has his owns schools! I get it.

Brad Faxon, saw a golf channel bit one time. He was a good communicator, they all know their own swing, but he seemed to be able to relate his favorite concepts to other styles and swings other than his own.

Ben Hogan

I waited for it, and there it is!

Just goes to show how little people know about Ben Hogan. No amount of money would have made him want to give you a lesson. What was that famous quotation? "Mr Hogan, you won't remember me but...." "You're right. I don't remember you."

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Uhm, we all know he's dead, which excluded him from the list of possible answers for most people I think...???

This isn't as obvious as answer as you would think, because great players might not be the best teachers. It's all about how to communicate golf to make it easy for the student to grasp. He needs to feel like he is discovering his swing rather than being told how to swing.
Personally I would like to be coached by a feel player, someone with instinct rather than an analytical approach to the game.

Based on this and thinking in particular with the short game,I would take Seve Ballesteros, saw a short game vid of his from 92 I think and I would never tire of that Spanish phrasing in his English.

I'm going to take this as involving guys currently on tour....

Ballstriking: Luke Donald: I'm so envious of how he swings, his consistency, that clean and simple action and the perfect balance.

Putting and Short Game: Steve Stricker: Hits his line, gets up and down tremendously
