I wanted to share an experience so that everyone could learn from my experience. This is a bit embarrassing, but here goes.

The other night, I was hitting some balls on the range at Young's Jersey Dairy (they have excellent ice cream btw). The grass was a little long and wet underneath, so I was moving my ball around to find some shorter grass that wasn't like hitting out of the first cut. Not paying attention, I placed a ball within a foot of the rope marking the practice area. My club went under the rope, pulled it up and gave me a rug burn on the side of my nose.

On the plus side, I've been working on releasing the club through the ball and down the target line, so I guess I was successful in doing so since I caught the rope.

How high was this rope that it hit you in the face?

It was on the grass until my club lifted it to face level. The darn thing slid right down the club shaft into my face. I wish I could say I was the only person on the range at the time. I was recording with my camcorder earlier until it ran out of tape. I'm not sure if I want that on tape or not. lol

If done this so many times (always thinking that tiny little patch of grass near the rope is good for one more ball ) but i never really burnt anything - YET

I've never actually had the rope burn, but I've moved the rope enough that everyone at the range looks up, then over at me. And they all have that, "you're an idiot" look on their face. Very cool.

It would have been more funny if you got like 5 other people too.lol

The dumbest thing I have done was top a ball straight into my bucket of balls, in which they sprayed everywhere.

I've unfortunately done this too...or I have my pile of balls on the ground and I don't quite move the ball I'm hitting far enough away and then somehow I hit a whole bunch of them

Done it, a couple of times in fact, caught the rope on my follow through. Didn't do any serious damage, just wasn't the best feeling.

LOL. I was trying to figure out a "I meant to do that." exit strategy, but just tucked my tail and walked away. ...looking at the ground of course.

A week or two ago I took my bag around to the back of my car when I realized I left my water bottle by the stall I was hitting from. I went and got my water and got into the car instead of putting my clubs away . I put the car in reverse and a noise come from the rear of the car. I got out and there are my clubs lying on the ground behind my car. DOH! Luckily, I didn't reverse to quickly or things could have been very bad.

Ouch! That would have stunk to trash a whole set of clubs for a bottle of water. Glad it came out ok.

I was paying for my range session on Tuesday, finished up picked up my clubs, somehow put my leg through the shoulder strap, proceeded to try and walk out the door and got tangled up and nearly fell. I didn't turn around, just scrambled to get my leg out and left LOL

Last week at the practice green I shanked a pitch onto the metal lid of my shag bag, which I'd tossed off to the side after emptying the balls out, and it ricocheted straight back to hit me on the upper thigh, rather too close for comfort to the other shag bag, if you follow me.

Stretch.

One of the funniest things to watch at my range is people forget to put a bucket under the ball dispenser when they are using the machine. I've knocked it over before and you always get that "I'm a dummy" feeling, but when 70 balls come shooting out from a shed onto a concrete floor and start bouncing a bunch, it's hard not to laugh.

What's really funny is how they always end up saying "guys, help me grab my balls"

I've done that before sort of. The ball dispenser at a local range has 2 shoots. I learned this the hard way if you catch my drift, but I didn't let anyone touch my balls.
