I ran out of the house yesterday and worn slip on shoes without socks and when I got to the golf course I realized that I forgot my socks at home. I was ready to go home but found my 9 year old daughters white no show socks in the glove box. I slipped them on and went out to play. I looked funny with dress pants, black golf shoes and white half socks. I told one player but not the other two what had happen.

I shot 7 over and the socks did not slip down once. Unfortunately the socks had no impact on my score, 4 over in the front and 3 over in the back. In summary my two double bogies were with hook drives that I corrected later.

Summary
28 putts
7 out of 12 up and downs
3 bogies
2 double bogies
40 front
39 back
79 score

. . . I forgot my socks at home . . .

And yet you played on - what an inspirational story - lol.

PS. Nice putting stats, again!!

I tried a new putting technique that seem to work out especially on long putts.

1) I judged my length of all my putts with the length of the back swing but what I did differently was that I released the club so that my forward swing was always the same distance and same tempo on all putts.

2) On all my putts I tried to keep the putter face square after impact to the target line

3) I think my putting stats was helped with a better than average up and down percentage on that day. 7 out of 12 is exception for me.

what the hell is the point to this thread? Did you really expect your stats to be thrown off by not having socks on? I cut my nails 2 days ago and putted like crap. That must be it!

He did have socks on, it was just his daughters. I too fail to see the point of this thread.

I played with out underwear. It really threw off my weight transfer. Oddly the whole pendulum thing while putting was much improved so it came out even.

He means to say that he plays better in women's clothing.

I'm surprised he didn't have a few exta pairs in the car, just in case he played with the infamous "15 year old son".

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
