Speaking of animated characters, Monty and Pavin remind me of Shrek and Donkey.

I've tried looking for statistics on this tournament, but without much success. Do they not record stats like driving and GIR accuracy this week?

CBS needs to scroll through five pages of the leaderboard to list every player within five strokes of the lead. Translation: this tournament is as wide open as any major I can remember.

Correction: this tournament was wide open, but then Nick Watney decided to go on a birdie binge.

Did McIlroy outdrive DJ? Seesh.

DJ's drive went further; Rory's drive had the better line.

Any one else find it weird to hear Breed talk in a normal tone on the broadcast?

Would not be unheard of, Rory is only 7,5 yards behind DJ on the driving average this year.

At least they've stopped showing every move Tiger and Phil make and started showing the guys who are actually playing well. I've seen enough double shots of Moobs shrugging off another gaff in his clown pants or Mr. Pouty Pants miming the path his missed putt "should have taken".

I don't know, I'm watching the online marquee coverage and I have to mute it because when he opens his mouth I just want to scream.

So who's this Rob Labritz guy?Amazing that he's -2.

Nevermind. My eyes must have deceived me when i read 63 for Liang

Actually, it was only a 64.

How is Watney getting away with where he's leaving a lot of his tee shots? Surely, he can't keep this up.

Watney is on today. He can miss it anywhere and still hit it inside 10 feet on the approach.

Lots of good scoring here today, even Tiger managed to put together four birdies. The leaderboard is packed at -9 to -6, only Watney running off at -12 at the moment. He'll feel the pressure if he get a 2-4 shot lead for tomorrow, with a bunch of guys chasing.

Yes, he is on fire. Hopefully the gap between him and the rest is not too big tomorrow. I really hope McIlroy and Kaymer get a shot at the title..

Near certain birdie at 14 and the easy 16 could bump him to -14

I don't like Nick's chances if he keeps up his play right now. He's had some solid holes, but a lot of luck to get where he is today, and luck is not a thing one wants to rely on.

Just as I type that, he nestles a wedge to three feet. OK, that's not luck. If he can play 18 holes like that tomorrow, he'll win.

Club pro. He was in my threesome in the third round of the National Club Pro in French Lick. Good guy. Bounced back from a double IIRC to shoot even par and then -2 or -3 to make the cut for the PGA on the number.
