Titleist Vokey Spin or Cleveland CG15?

I'm leaning toward the CG15's at the moment, but what are the pros and cons of each? Thanks!

Other than the CG-15's laser milled grooves wearing down, nothing really comes between the two other than preference. Both great wedges, I am going Vokey in a few months.

They are both excellent. I went with Vokey only because I like the shape a bit better. you can't go wrong with either.

I agree. Both are excellent wedges and both will perform for you. I like the Vokey wedges because I like the weight/balance and the shape better than the Clevelands. But that's just personal preference. Just got find one that feels and looks good to you. I think performance will be about the same between the two.

Cleveland was advertising their CG-15 wedges for a while as non-conforming and the last year you could get their special zip grooves , but recent ads show them claiming conformance. Are there CG-15's being sold that comform and don't conform?

Go with the one that you like the best. All things being equal, I would go for the one that fits your eye and your swing.

All Cleveland wedges currently for sale are also available as conforming, but usually only as special order. (from the tech rep I spoke to last week, and also somewhere buried on their website)

Cleveland and Vokey wedges are both great, but there's a big difference in feel between the two. You need find a place where you can hit them from different lies (without tape and not it a store) and decide for yourself. I'm replacing both of my wedges becuase one of them is worn out, and I want to replace in a pair, but both will be Cleveland. Luckily for me, I can still get the same loft/bounce combinations as I already have.

Both great wedges, but i'd recommend the vokeys because you have the choice of different sole designs- have a look on vokey.com may'be, they have some new ones for 150 dollars, but you can choose from a wider variety of sole grinds. IMO the vokeys look much better aswell!

I pulled the trigger myself yesterday and bought an oil can Vokey SM 58/08 with stiff KBS tour black nickel shaft. I favored it over the CG15 for a few reasons. First, the vokey seems to have a straighter leading edge which makes it easier to align. Second, those laser lines on the CG15 only last a few weeks, so why would I pay a premium for that. Third, I don't perceive Cleveland to be a top notch golf gear manufacturer (which might very well be a misconception on my part, but it's there, can't help it).

I say the Vokeys, my dad has the Cg15;s they are a amazing wedge, but the groves seem to wear down alot quicker.

You should by witch ever looks better to your eye and what bounce combo's fit you best.

Cleveland is selling both conforming and non-conforming CG-15s. The non-conforming have "Tour Zip Grooves", while the conforming have "Zip Grooves". There is an identifying logo on the back of the wedges that indicate which wedge it is.

I would get the non-conforming, since you can use these for another 14 years (unless you are in tournaments requiring confirming grooves). If i knew how to post pictures here, i would show you both of the wedges.

I have been contemplating the Vokey vs CG decision for a while. For the past year, I have been playing CG14s (52,56,60). Just replaced my 52* with a Vokey 50* to see how that works for me. With the new groove rule in effect for manufacturers starting Jan 1, 2011, I wanted to make sure I was set for the next few years. After hours and hours of online research, I believe that you ask 100 people which wedge they prefer, you will get a pretty even split, perhaps 60/40 in favor of Vokey (probably due to name brand loyalty). Here are my thoughts:

CG15: * great feeling wedge, very solid (like my 14s) * not crazy about the shape * those extra milled grooves will start to disappear very quickly (based on what I see with guys I play with) * If I were to purchase Cleveland, I would get 14s, not 15s (for the shape and groove issue I mentioned) Vokey * great looking wedge * after 10 rounds with my 50*, there is NO visible wearing of grooves (face looks exactly like it did brand new) * grooves do tend to beat up balls more than Clevelands * more feel than Cleveland, but doesn't feel quite as solid at contact I currently am playing a Vokey 50*, and CG14 (56,60) and will probably stay with this setup through the end of the year and then decide if I want to stock up on a couple more non-conforming. BUT, here is the best advice I can give you. Vokeys and Clevelands do feel different. Find a range or club that will allow you to demo both and see what suits your eye and your swing. All you need is 10 swings with each and you will know which you like better. Buy what works for you, not what works for us.

I have been using both aswell, I found the CG15's to be a little more "alive" but the Vokey's look better, wedges is just about confidence and apart from being about the same quality, the Vokey's have my personal prefs.......
