Phil and Tiger will be paired together tomorrow.

Just read this - awesome. Hope the cameraman packed up some hiking gear to be prepared for the spots he will have to go when following these two hacks :)

The changed the game of the week to allow MLB fans to see that young Nationals pitcher - good thing too since his career is likely over.

Sports leagues can reschedule individual games into predetermined television windows because there is no consequence in doing so. The PGA tour can't delay the final round of an important championship by several hours just because Tiger and Phil are playing together in midpack, nor can they allow those two to play out of position on the course and draw attention away from the leaders. You'll see plenty of them on the back nine when coverage starts at 2:00.

I'd kinda like to see that too, but how would you suggest the PGA make it happen? Convince the network to cut into live programming? It's not the PGA's fault that Philip and Tiger aren't in contention enough to have a tee time later than the broadcast is scheduled to start. I'm sure we'll see plenty of them once it does.

I wish they would cut a deal with The Golf Channel to let them air coverage before network coverage. Any not just on a day by day basis, I wish they did it all the time.

I don't know what's on in your neck of the woods but they're showing infomercials on the West Coast.

My point is they'd have to bump some program that was already scheduled to air. Other than that they're stuck with whatever coverage had been arranged. I agree with you though, it is unfortunate - Golf Channel usually covered the tournament until the network took over, but that doesn't seem to be the case for the Fed Ex Cup. Maybe Golf Channel was asking more than the Tour thought is was worth for the coverage - who knows, I just know these decisions are made well in advance and are probably pretty locked in by the time anyone knows whether T&P; are going to be paired together.

Even if they couldn't show it on network tv, there must be somewhere - one of the ESPNs, the Golf Channel . . heck, even adding marque group to the internet coverage.

Again, it all comes down to whether a deal for that could've been worked out in advance. I agree with you though in the sense that at the very least the Tour could've arranged for its own internet coverage.

There's a lot of stuff that has to be in place to broadcast a sporting event. They could film the first 1/2 of the field like "Survivorman" - the players would have to do it themselves.

LOL - think of Tiger filming Phil (and the other way round) and then adding comments to his shot - that would be hilarious.

For some reason, NBC doesn't permit Golf Channel to air extended tournament coverage outside of the network's broadcast window (which CBS does in the form of early third and fourth round broadcasts and encore airings of the network broadcast during the evening). The local NBC affiliates control the timeslots before the broadcast; even if the local stations are airing infomercials, those are an important source of the affiliates' revenue, so the network won't take those hours away for their own airtime.

After Phil bombs drive, Tiger flips the camera around and films himself flipping Phil off, behind his back. It sells itself!!

How about CBS start showing the guys in the top five and not the guys at T27th? I've yet to see a shot by Charlie (haven't watched it all), but I've seen shots from almost everyone else inside the top 10. Moore and Casey, whom I don't like, sitting at top, does not make it any better. If Charlie does not get the job done, I hope for Dustin or Stricker.

Looks like Mickelson is introducing Woods to a sport called "golf". I think he's enjoying it.

"Casey is one of the few people with a traditional golf swing"

Why have you put this in inverted commas? They said nothing of the sort. The words were: "Kind of an old fashioned swing", after commenting that not many players these days lift their left foot.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Casey makes 5 birdies on the first 12 holes, then two bogies and drives his ball into the trees on the next tee shot. This thing is wide open, Dustin can make a bit up for his major miss today.

Doing his best to throw it away at the moment. Bogey - bogey - bogey. Can't say I'm disappointed, not a big fan. Miller made a good point a few minutes ago about how there's a reason Casey's only won once in the States.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.
