Is that picture legit? She looks 7' compared to the rest. Came up 'short' in this weeks tournament though.

Did any of you watched the coverage yesterday? Wie hit it into a hazard (uhh danger) - so she goes in there then the camera follows - she hits the shot, and the camera immediateley turns away - just in case, you never know what rule screw up might follow with Wie

I've only been on this website for a few weeks but i'm surprised to see the lack of class by some posters. Michelle Wie seems like a likable person to me. She's made some mistakes but she was very young when most of them happened and her father was a bad influence. Also, calling someone a "tranny" is classless and mean. Can't we do better here?

You might want to look at this, listen to her how she disrespects the game throughout this video and then you maybe realize why there are people who dont think that

Um, like, it was, um, you know, like, so totally unfair, you know.

Like it or not but MW attracts viewers. She might not be eloquent but I wouldn't say that she is unintelligent. You have no idea how much pressure she went through and you think you can handle it better than her. Just look at Erica Blasberg, she buckled under the pressure of high expectations and took her own life. How about Ty Tryon?

I can´t see how anyone could be rooting for a blatantly arrogant, spoilt, unintelligent cheater like Michelle Wie. It´s beyond me.

Pressure? Who of the greats always suggested the best way to practice and withstand pressure is playing with 10 bucks in your pocket when 50 bucks are on the line. How does this resemble if you step on the first tee with 10 mil / year in endorsements and already know that whatever you do, you wont go broke. That might take a bit of wind out of your sails.... And there are more than enough examples out there that did just fine handling the pressure without all the antics of MW. How often did Lorena Ochoa get DQ´ed or arguing about obv. rule violations for 1/2 hour with officals instead of eating some humble pie!

And comparing her to Erica Blasberg is just completly wrong, since she never had such a financial cushion like MW and had to rely on playing succesful to make money.

kafka, if you wanna hate on a 20-year old and pretend that she's not under pressure just because she has a good bank account, go ahead. Spread the negativity. Have fun.

Me, I'll continue to wish her well and hope she can become a dominant player like she's always shown signs of being.

P.S. Lorena's not sparkling clean either. She had quite the temper her last year on tour and was shown several times slamming clubs down, throwing clubs, and yelling at herself. I've never had a problem with emotion on the course, but if you're gonna be negative at least be fair.

What did this young woman do to you to make you dislike her so much? She's 20 and has been in the spotlight since she was 13 or something like that.

The money is not where the pressure comes from. She has been anointed as the next great LPGA player and the female Tiger Woods. She has very high standards for her game and wants to be a great, great player. Then there's the pressure from her father and family. Thats more pressure than you or I could even imagine.

I agree with you.

She has been anointed as the next great LPGA player and the female Tiger Woods.

Exactly and yet she is a very humble human being. Just listen to some of her quotes:

"Hopefully, I will be able to play the Ryder Cup one day, that would be awesome and I think it is totally possible" "My favorite player is Tiger Woods. I think I can beat Tiger when I’m 20. It’s a life goal." ...IMO these are pretty realistic goals. She has already proven that she dominates womens golf ( a whopping 1 win) and she is a very nice person because she is waiting for Tiger to beat Jacks record and then wants to join the PGA and win every major from then on.
Then there's the pressure from her father and family. Thats more pressure than you or I could even imagine.

Everyone just imagine for a second the pressure she has to deal with. I believe even a Tiger Woods would falter under the pressure of knowing that if he screwed up his next shot he´d get grounded by his parents and they´d send him to bed without reading him a bedtime story. In all honesty I believe there should be a special "The Big Wiesy Rules of Golf Book" which says it´s allowed to ground your club in a bunker or quit tournaments whenever you play bad. Of course these special rules would only apply to Michelle Wie. After all she deserves special treatment since she is basically in hell, but keeps going. You go girl!!!!

Golf is a game in which the ball always lies poorly and the player always lies well.

3 wins. That's 3 more than she had a year and a half ago. She's a good player. I've never actively cheered against her in a tournament but if she loses I'm not upset in any way.

I don't like to watch or listen to her during an interview. While she's on the course, actually golfing, I'll watch and enjoy - she's that good. Christina Kim on the other hand, yeah, I wish she'd just go away.

I agree, she seems a bit 'silly' for want of a better word. But she's still young and has growing up to do. And on Kim going away.. yes please, yes please very much.
A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

I really like Michelle Wie and I think she is going to be a great golfer for many years to come. She just had the unfortunate privilege as being crowned the next golfing great at a young age and I feel like that brought too much pressure upon her before she was ready to accept it. She is only 20 years old and that is still very young, give the girl a little more maturity and it just might be lights out for the rest of the tour. I could see her going on a long reign as the top woman golfer in the world.

Yeah, let's all be •••••••s and put down a girl for some things she said when she was 14 years old. What big men we can all be then!

2 wins. She didn't hang on last week. I'm surprised there wasn't more cheering and wise cracks in this thread when Tseng overtook her with the closing nine 30. That's the norm on golf message boards, a dependable handful of posters whose LPGA attention span and comments are relegated to rooting against Michelle Wie. It's quite hysterical. Every event they are a comfy 12-1 to 15-1 favorite, since those are the odds against Wie winning. Imagine the terror when it looks like it will go the other way.

It always reminds me of the pathetic characters in Las Vegas sportsbooks who are too broke to be in action but go out of their way to chuckle when someone else loses. They'll waltz over and say, "Too bad. BTW, I liked the other side." Actually, a low opinion of Michelle Wie is a litmus test for poor handicapping in general, IMO. You'll go through life getting plenty wrong if you don't understand that nearly making a cut in a men's event at 14 is indicative of freakish ability, and destined to play out in her favor minus injury. It takes the standard bar stool over reactive type to think the nice but very typical accomplishments of top junior players are indicative of more ability than Wie and her unusual path. Two years ago the amusing Wie bashers were hopeful she would fail at Q School, ready to pounce. When that didn't work, they confidently aligned with Vicky Hurst and Stacy Lewis, announcing those two would have more immediate success. Whoops. Last year they defaulted to Amanda Blumenhurst. Kind of tough out there, isn't it? Now the Wie haters desperately wait for Lexi Thompson, LOL.
