wins a tournament or two early and in particular trounces the field by 10 or so?

I am not saying he is going to, however I think if he can trash a couple of fields then his intimidation factor comes right back.

All the older players think "here we go again..."

All the new players who have joined the big time over the last three years suddenly get a taste of what it is like to play well and be miles behind the level you need to win.

Thoughts?

the players who have been around will say, here we go again.... the newer players wont be phased at all. they have seen him on the course getting beat and losing in a way tiger was not known to lose.

just my opinion

I don't think he'll ever be as intimidating as he once was. The talent gap is not as large as in the past and players like Kaymer and McDowell are mentally tough enough to deal with the pressure.

With The Fantastic Mr. Foley as his guide, should expect anything less?

Tiger will be back to his winning ways. Maybe not as dominate as in the past, but the newbies will get a taste of what it's like to play Tiger at the top of his game.

Cleveland Hibore XLS Driver: Nike Ignite2 Irons: Adams SW and LW: Odyssey White Hot Mallet: Bridgestone e6 and TreoSoft Balls etc...

I have to agree with MSchott; I don't think Tiger will ever be as intimidating, but seeing as how I'm a Tiger fan...I hope he regains is old form. In other words, I hope I'm wrong :)

I think he'll win again and ...... big.Β  But, with advancing age it'll be harder than in the past.Β  He'll be around and always one to be considered.

Short term: he needs his short game and long game to be sharp in order to be dominant.

Long term:Β  I think the health of his knee is key.Β  He will have the ability to be dominant for a long time if his body will let him.

You wouldn't get very good odds on a wager like that in Vegas since the table is tilted your way.

It's like saying Wayne Gretzky's best years behind him when he was traded to the LA Kings. It's true, but he still filled the nets (and fed other guys who did) for the Kings.

i don't think his intimidation factor ever went away. i guarantee that if you listed 10 players, including tiger, and asked tour pro's to rank who they'd like to be paired with on sunday all square, tiger would be last on the list.

I am confused .... Your points support Socals point - what are you saying? Tiger's best is behind us now but some of the comments above wishfully point to Tiger returning to his old ways. I see this as Tiger 3.0 - a new version. But sadly this version carries the putting flaws of vision 2.0.

I believe Tiger's best is behind him. Because of his age, physical problems, and personal problem I doubt he will ever be as dominate as he was. Β Even he speaks to having "achieved better balance in his life". Β I do believe because of his talent, work ethic, and competitive nature that he will surely be a threat to win any tournament he enters for a long time yet to come. Β But he'll have to do it with his sticks as the pros are not as intimidated as they once were by Tiger and he isn't the player he was at 25.

Tiger Woods' best days are behind him, yet life as we know it goes on. He'll still win tournaments, because he's that good and the rest of the field hasn't gotten any better. Just a few new faces. This just in: water is wet. The polar icecaps are melting.Β Nascar, for some unknown reason, is still going strong.

Really? Β Not really showing it this week after, in his words "the first injury free break in his career". Β Lot's of good talent out there this week and sadly Tiger is not part of that group. Β Now he could do a 61 tomorrow and not many would be surprised I guess, but he is not as good as the field right now, despite what Sean and he say :-)

And besides putting, he probably should spend some time in the practice bunker at home....

Did I say he was going to win this weekend? There are a lot of players trailing Tiger in the field going into Sunday. Are they all going to be winless for the remainder of their career too? Jackass.
