Golf towel size

Hey, I'm looking at getting a new towel b/c I feel my current one isn't large enough. I wanted to know what size towel most of you guys use. Thanks.

haha I did the same thing.  I don't use a "golf towel" just any hotel towel will do.  I just poke a hole in it to hang on my bag.

With spring approaching (not soon enough), go check out the demo days many club companies put on. Towels are usually one of the giveaways. I scored 2 free ones last spring and you just can't beat free!

I just use a white bath towel from my house. It's probably about 30x15", I find it to be a good size and I can use it without washing for about 3 rounds.

Are microfiber towels worth the extra cash? There are reviews that are very positive buuuuuut I don't know... I'm liking the Holiday Inn method I'm reading. Haha

I use a medium-size bath towel. You can get them for about $3 during department store linen sales. Get one in a color that matches your bag - the color won't show stains as much after washing as a white towel. Or, you can use a midsize bath towel that's too worn for normal use - the ladies would say it "looks bad on the towel rack" and spoils the WC decor.

(It will take some convincing that the $19 microfiber towel will outperform my $3 towel).

If it's hot and damp during the summer, I'll add a small hand towel (for clubs and ball) and use the bath towel for my hands.

I like to use a fairly large one as I like to wet one end because I don't wear a glove and it helps to get the oils and such off when sweating in the heat.  I prefer to use the bath towels myself, only because I don't find the "golf" towels that name brand companies put out big enough and usually too expensive.

When it comes to cleaning golf clubs, I don't think the microfiber helps all that much. The main purpose is to wipe off drit and water, something any towel will be able to. Mine are as large as possible without getting in the way and going all the way down to the ground when attached to the bag.

+1 on this for me.  Buy decent bath towels on the cheap, keep one end wet and you're good to go.

Also +1 on a separate towel for hands and face.

I use a towel that is at least 22x40 and have used medium bath towels too.  I wet 1/4 of it and drape it over my bag umbrella or the cart windshield.  The towel is so important to my game because I also do not wear a glove and will wipe down my grip before each shot.

I just read a review on one of the microfiber towels that are out there:

"Most towels do an OK job of managing these tasks, but is an OK job really good enough for you? If you demand quality in all aspects of the golf you play then you definitely should not be settling for some cotton bath towel to get the job done."

Unfortunately, I don't know if I'm comfortable with the quality of my game (or lack thereof) being overshadowed by the quality of my TOWEL. haha

Maybe there will be a towel fitting at my local golf shop soon to get the most technically advanced towel to enhance my performance off the tee and around the greens.

When I bought my R11 I picked up the matching towel for my bag.  I was very surprised because my previous R9 towel was IMO on the very smallish size, but when I unfolded the R11 towel it was double the size.  Here is a pic of how big it is.

I think they should make the branding on that towel a little bigger so we know who makes it!

I carry 2 towels at all time.  One is about the same size as this R11 towel, and used to clean clubs after every shot.  The second is about 1/2 this size and goes with me to every green.  I use it to keep my golf balls clean before putting and in the summer is my sweat towel.
