He's closer to naturally maintaining the flex than he is to straightening it, but that was a red herring. I see you didn't disagree with the arm and hand position part?!?

Bubba is truly an amazing talent. He is from my hometown so I have seen him play many times. Most people do not realize how athletic he is. He could throw a baseball 90mph from the left side, dunk a basketball in highschool, and he is obviously one of the most flexible players on tour. What a fun player to watch!

I disagree, but if you're going to continue to use lousy words like "naturally" and "straightening," I don't see the point in continuing to discuss it as nobody really knows what you mean by "naturally"... and I never said "straighten" to mean how you might define it.

Bubba generates speed any number of ways. How much of it comes from his jumping, his turning his hips, his shoulder turn, his natural build and skill...? We can't really know until Bubba could be trained to do something another way and then we could measure the differences. You've really not been paying much attention if you think I believe there's only one way to swing a golf club.

I appreciate your attempts at getting out the needle or whatnot, but it ain't workin'.

He seems to be the perfect match of coordination, flexibility, and power.  To throw a 90 mph fastball is very rare for one thing.  There are not very many lefties in the world who can do that, shoot..a lot of major league lefties dont throw that hard.  and there are also a lot of 6 foot three people who cant dunk.  between those skills and the ability to hit the ball so well he obviously has great coordination that allows him to use his body very efficiently to do a certain task.  i would say that the coordination involved in throwing a baseball is up there with the coordination with hitting a golf ball.  so he is definately a freak of nature.

That's an unfamiliar phrase. Anyway, if someone wanted to post slow motion video every Bubba Watson swing from the weekend, we'd see they're like snowflakes. No two were alike. Some were more unique than others. His drive on 18 against Kaymer for example. He could have driven the green with a straight shot, but he tried to paint the sky with a big looping slice and put it in the desert. He could swing 100 different ways and without seeing video of the ball landing, we'd never know which were the best shots. He's a freak - in a good way.

FWIW, during the very beginning of the last round one of the commentators said something to the effect of "everyone says how Bubba Watson works the ball so much, well he's hit the same slight cut shot 95% of the time."

bubba could not reach the 18th that gulley or cart path area was about 40yds wide and from the bottom of that area to the green was about 50feet above i was there all week and no player could even reach the down slope of the fairway the fairway bunker was 310 out and the wind was blown in their face

Indeed, the course's home page states it plays "at elevations ranging from 2,300 to 3,200 feet". However I'd think the cold temps would negate some of the elevation advantages.
