Gotta agree with this... I can't remember the last time I hit a 3 wood that was just ok... they are either great or total crap.

For me, the hardest shot (at least right now) is in a green side bunker, especially when I've short sided myself.  I really don't have a lot of confidence that I can get out of there ok; everything else I feel like I at least have a decent chance to pull off.

Probably not as hard as it's made out to be (if I can hit one), but requires the cleanest contact of any golf club.  Worth picking one up even if just for range use.

Any eagle putt that is more then a tap in not that I've ever had a tap in eagle. I'm shaking like crazy. I hate blind uphill shots also.

Thanks,I know how to play the shot, I had a closed head injury when young, (basically a mild stroke), my balance is only fair and I tend to tense up, so its mental.  I even had the bunker yips for about 2 years.

I might have missed it but for me it is the steep uphill, buried lie in a green side bunker.  Doesn't happen often around here as not much sand in most bunker and/or it isn't soft.  But a difficult shot for me when ever it does happen and if not careful you can end up picking yourself up out of the bunker.

i wouldnt hit a 3 wood in that lie...........i would go wedge, wedge into the green, 9 out of 10 times i would post a lower number

Various short sided wedge shots all about tied for me.  The 30-50 yarder out of the rough with the pin just a few steps on the green.  Short sided bunker shot with green running away.  5-8 yards off the green, elevated above the green, tough lie in the rough, green running away.  I guess I have the most trouble with the wedge shots that require very accurate placement while still getting great spin from a place where it's hard to get spin.  I just bought my first 60˚ on ebay to help with this very type of shot!

A shot out of shaggy rough under overhanging tree branches - usually a young maple tree or weeping willow. You need loft to escape the grass, but loft will put you into the tree canopy.

Next time, I'll take an unplayable lie penalty and back up to where I can drop and get a full swing.

Rough with the ball lying down, short sided to a flag say three yards on, green running away

I'd say same shot, but one that you have to keep under a limb first then over the bunker and stop, out of the rough.  I get this particular shot on my home course on hole #3 a lot if I hook it in the tree line on the left.  I always end up with the 70 yard pitch out of rough, under a limb, over a bunker, into a shallow green.  I hate that shot.  I now actually try to hit it in the bunker...which ensures it won't go in there.

As others have said, I'd have to agree with 3 wood off the deck. Its only a pure strike or a flat-out 100% duff. Hence why I've taken it out of my bag!
