Is it not bad etiquette/dress code violation?

None of the courses in my country would even let him in the clubhouse, let alone compete on the course without a collar.

IMO at the very least he should be wearing a collar (i.e polo shirt)

What's next (after spitting on the green).... a vest?

I am not a Tiger hater btw I absolutely love the guy and wish him well, especially in the masters.

I only just saw his last putt, but it looked like a mock turtleneck to me. But like I said, I didn't see much.

EDIT: Just saw the highlights, that's a mock turtleneck. When I was in high school we had those one season.

Tiger's been wearing a mock neck for quite some time. It's one of the clothing styles that I believe he helped popularize, or at least make more acceptable in general. That and caddies being allowed to wear shorts.

Look at the mock turtles he first starting wearing to what he wears now that collar has come down a lot. I don't have a problem with it but he is definitely pushing t-shirt status.

This is a trend he started about 10 years ago.

A well cut  mock turtleneck looks very smart.

He hasn't worn them much over the last few years but it used to be  "trademark" Tiger look.

In fact, many golf clubs changed their dress codes so that shirts "without collars but specifically designed for golf" became permissable.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I was thinking about the comments about the shirts looking like T-Shirts and I realized something. I own one of these shirts, but I rarely wear it. It's a white Cutter & Buck, and I feel like I'm wearing an undershirt whenever I wear it. Too much collar for the gym, feels like an undershirt every other time, except when I try to wear it as one, in which case, it has too much collar again. Maybe if it were a different color or had a design.

It's a common look for Tiger, but newsflash - he didn't invent it.

I don't mind the look with long sleeves or under a jumper

It does look scruffy with the short sleeves imo

Turtlenecks and mock turtlenecks are the ugliest piece of clothing ever invented.

I don;t see the point of them...

I have never had a cold neck enough to warrant a turtleneck. and I live in Alberta :S

To see one being worn in Florida in the heat is just weird.

@sean_miller:  There you go....Dispelling the well known fact that Tiger did indeed invent golf clothing, as well as golf tournaments and, well, golfing in general.

I agree that it doesn't look great, but what is lazy about a mock turtleneck? It doesn't take any longer to put on a regular collared shirt.
