I know it's boasting but I can't help it.  I just got my first hole in one on my first round of the year!!  Shot a 78 and got a hole in one on the 10th hole at 170 yards into a breeze using a 7-iron!  I hit it a little thin and started out 5 yards left of the hole then started to come back with the wind and hit a foot before the pin and one hopped into the hole, it was unbelievable! The best part was, though, that I got to share this experience with my dad!

No apology needed for the boasting, nice work!

I think I'd probably tell just about anyone who would listen (and many who wouldn't) if I ever put a 1 on my scorecard.

Right on, man.  Congrats.  thought I had one on TUE..as the ball was peaking its flight, a guy i was play'n with started yessing.."Miller Light"!   I said.."Irish whiskey if it goes"!  I've only seen one HIO live and in person, and I was more excited than the guy who made it.

Congrats and why is this your first round of the year?  As impressive as the hole in one is the fact that you shot 78 after not playing for at least 6 months.  When I hear things like that I realize I lack true skill.

I got back from school just about a week ago.  I had gone to the range a couple times before playing my first round so I don't suck too badly, and I feel it worked for the most part.  I was horrible on my short game, so the fact that I put my first shot in the hole saved me on making another sucky short game miss. haha!
