Feherty is acting like he is a doctor, how is he suppose to know if he should wd.

Can't he get it checked out by medical or something?

Driver shots are FAR less impact on a damaged wrist than an iron shot on concrete hard fairways when trying to take a divot. Next shot will be on eof his last methinks for this tour. :(

That fairway wood from 250 was way short. He's probably in that spot right now where the pain has numbed a bit, and it's not as sharp and shooting, but it'll probably get worse towards the end of the round, and definitely tomorrow. Then again, I've never had a PGA-quality training staff at my disposal.

    • Day 175: 6/15/24 Putting practice through gates, and some chipping indoors.
    • Yeah, watched Geoff Ogilvy's bit on Fried Egg about his conversation with some bogey golfer finding #2 most fun to play and the irony in it being so.  Makes sense.
    • So, I think the idea behind it is that the ball is not perfectly smooth (obviously). So, on shorter putts, it is better to hit that point on the ball because it gets the ball into a better roll. You are not compressing the ball with a short putt, so it would act more similar to if you were hitting let's say a 100 sided dice. On longer putts, you might be compression the ball so more of the ball impacts the club face and then that single point doesn't matter.  It might be something he made up, could be a confidence thing, could be a legit thing. Maybe it matters more with how good the greens they putt on.  Also, we are talking about a single point here, and the putter face angle, path, ect.. will change a bit on each putt. So, it isn't like you are hitting that spot exactly in the same way.  Not sure it is worth the effort with so many variables in play.
    • Looking at the aerial, there is very few holes were short is bad. You can always putt from off the green, so it makes the short game easier. I can see where the big number is out more often. It's not really a course where you can easily go low at either. The sand down there is super easy to play out of.
    • Yeah, even Jamie doesn't really push (forward) with the right leg here, so I bumped on his use of that phrase/term early as well. They get away from it, though, and when they show the movements it's more obvious that's not what he's talking about. I sometimes wish there was a better term because, as you note, it often leads to people trying to actually "push" with their right leg.
