Did you pick him to win in the contest TST is having? I know who did. Me.

Geez, what's up with Woodland? Ten over through 16.

Woodland looks worse since changing swing coaches

I always love it when some random poster who picked a top-ranked world player to win, comes into a thread and says stuff like "where are those other guys?!? Ha I told you so!"

That is so cool.  I also like guys who throw mud against the wall and then brag when some of it sticks.

This isn't a wide-open tournament any longer. There are nine players within five strokes of the lead, and those nine players will be the only ones who matter tomorrow.

I'll be rooting for Mahan and/or Westwood to win tomorrow.

Really surprised that Rory took such a strong nose-dive, considering how consistent he had been playing.  I'm not surprised he played poorly today, just at how poorly it was.  Tiger appeared to have almost no game and/or confidence yesterday, and was +3.  Rory was +7 through 11 holes, despite playing great the day before.  It's amazing how it can come-and-go for one of the top 3 most talented and consistent golfers in the world.

Yeah, what the heck is up with that?

I had a qualifying tournament today, so I'm actually watching the round on my DVR right now (McIlroy just appears to have just finished the 15th).  They haven't showed any of his shots yet.  They did show him and Sergio Garcia in some sarcastic hug, but no actual golf.

He teed off around 2:30, and by the time coverage started at 3:30 he had already fallen off the leaderboard. Plus, before CBS's coverage began he wasn't to Amen Corner yet, so he wasn't shown on any of the Masters.com coverage either.

Something needs to be done about this lack of coverage.  Maybe Obama can help us?  ha.

It's nice to see Phil in the hunt again.  It would have been more exciting if Phil, Tiger and Rory were fighting it out, but I have enjoyed the first three days more than any other year so far.  It's great to have online live video plus CBS coverage.   Another day for the greens to dry out and get faster so it has to make Phil the favorite, but will be interesting to see if Hanson or any of the others can push Phil to the end.

what on earth happened to Rory?  there's been no or little coverage of Rory's 3rd round ... no post-round analysis by the media, no post-round interview with Rory, etc?  Just factual score reporting and the bromance with Sergio on the 12th.  What gives?

Well, it's not like he's one of the top ranked golfers in the world or anything.

Kidding obviously.  You'd think for a guy who is #2 in the world and is the unofficial #1 projected guy to "dominate" golf over the next decade, they would at least recap his round during live coverage.

You can see video of some of his round by clicking on the green numbers on his scorecard at masters.com. The double bogey he made at #1 yesterday was just about as ugly as you'll ever see from a 15 handicapper, let alone the new face of golf.

I just want Phil to shoot a 67 and win. Not cuz I want him to get a 4th green jacket.

Cuz I want that Rocketballz Driver. I picked Phil winning at 13 under.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
