One year ago a college junior was about to quit the game of golf. She'd gotten so frustrated with her swing and the instruction she was receiving that her scores were ballooning and her confidence had all but vanished.

Today, about a year later and less than a year after her first lesson with Golf Evolution (she took about four to six lessons over the year, the most recent of which was in December when home from college on Christmas break), she shot rounds of 74-76 on a par-73 layout, shooting the lowest score each day to win her Conference Championship by eight shots!!!!

Pretty remarkable! Here are some videos from July and December of 2011. The July lesson was a few weeks after her first lesson in June. The asterisked image is the one I've included at the bottom.

Quite honestly, this kind of news beats just about anything else we can do in golf. We take a different approach at Golf Evolution - our lessons aren't on the clock, we want people to play and enjoy the game of golf because we honestly believe people are happier when they play better golf. We're passionate about the game, and I think that shines through in how we approach teaching.

So as corny as it may sound, today's results and T.S.'s play is our true payoff. She was in tears she was so happy, and she was about to give up the game less than a year ago.

We couldn't be more thrilled. Kudos and congratulations are deserved ten times over, and T.S. is a hard worker and a great student. Congratulations!

Congratulations to both the player (nice swing!) and the instructional coaches over at Golf Evolution.  Pretty stellar and appreciate you sharing the success story with the rest of the forum!

Definite improvement in impact position, even the address looks more square after lessons. It's a big mechanical improvement, but the fact she was able to go from having no confidence in her swing to winning a tournament is the real accomplishment. As an instructor, that has to be satisfying. Congrats to both for the big win.

If I could only achieve that impact position.

4-6 lessons and this is the result, absolutely amazing!!! I don't which is more impressive, the hard

work that went into the changes or the instruction. Congrats on a job extremely well done!

Steady head + weight forward + better flying wedge from P5 to P6 + hard work = conference championship

The right photo impact position looks so much more natural, unforced and powerful compared to the left photo.

Why am I not surprised it only took 4-6 lessons?

Congrats!

That's an incredible difference of the before and after. Just out of curiosity, what was her "before" index?

Congrats to everyone involved!!

I agree. It just takes proper application of proper principles.

Congrats to T.S. and the Golf Evolution team.  The stark difference in the photos above is incredible... what a testament to solid instruction as well as player dedication (less than year?!).

    • Day 49 - 2024-11-18 Light day of HackMotion work in the basement with my putting. Suffice to say my feels very closely align with what is measured.
    • Day 200 (18 Nov 24) - Broke out the MacGregor blades to do some “vintage” club pitches and chips.  Focus was on alignment and where I am looking in relation to the ball…have been working on finding a focal point about 3-6 inches ahead of the ball (toward the target) and not staring at the ball.  Getting very predictable strikes.  Overall it was a fun drill session and will serve as a warmup to tomorrow’s planned front 9 walk with these irons and persimmon woods and of course a “new” putter - a Acushnet Bullseye…
    • TV ratings  continue to drop. Stop the endless wiggles and waggles.
    • I believe that losing a tour card is too extreme but definitely agree that more needs to be done to prevent slow play.
    • Its way past time both tours  have  major  penalties for  slow  play. I  hate  it when they say" This group is  on the  clock". Big damn deal. Issue  penalties. Maybe Hull is a  bit too harsh but  its time a slew  of  2 stroke  penalties start  being  issued.     Charley Hull is fed up with slow play on the LPGA, so she offered a ‘ruthless’ solution “I’m quite ruthless, but I said, ‘Listen, if you get three bad timings, every time it’s a tee shot penalty; if you have three of them, you lose your Tour card instantly.’ I’m sure that would hurry a lot of people up, and they won’t want to lose their Tour card. That would kill the slow play, but they would never do that.” Who knows if that will work. But if it does not, maybe the PGA Tour should adopt Hull’s idea. The LPGA should, too, or at least assess penalty strokes for slow play. Five-hour rounds for a final group on Sunday is unacceptable and a quick way to lose interest and engagement from fans.
