After watching some of the "live from the us open" I kind of like Tigers chances more. They say the course favors a fade. I also didnt know phil has come up runner up 5 times without a win. I dont think anybody wants it more than him. Im so excited for this. Not to mention tiger, bubba and phil in the same group. Do they have their tee times yet?

Tee times are here: http://www.usopen.com/en_US/scoring/groupings.html You can watch Tiger's group for all 18 holes, beginning at 7:33 AM PDT Thursday, here: http://www.usopen.com/en_US/video/liveVideo.html
I recorded Live From last night and will try to watch a few of the interviews. Tiger, Phil, etc. were all interviewed yesterday right? Anyone say anything interesting?
Mostly predictable questions and bland answers. IMO the most interesting things were most of the players implying that the 13th hole was unfair (they shaved the severe downhill area between the green and the creek, so a good shot to the green can end up in the hazard), and Phil saying that if he plays his best, the only guy he's worried about is Tiger.

Actually, you shouldn't have picked either of them at all, unless you were going to pick them to win.  At the time of your posting, I had already picked Baddeley as my number 2, and the very first entry on the first page has Stricker as his number 2.  Those 2 picks make both of yours irrelevant.

Likewise, assuming somebody has (or will) pick Stricker or Baddeley with their first pick, that will make my Baddeley pick, and the first posters Stricker pick irrelevant as well.

I'm really surprised at the quantity of people who are making guesses before they read (or understand) the rules.  Granted, it's "only" a Cobra driver at stake, but still, I'd love to add one of those to my collection!

EDIT:  Some people are probably understanding the rules, just not bothering to read all of the previous entries.

They're only bad choices if someone else picks a closer score or has them in a higher slot.

See what I mean?  Even I don't understand the rules!  OK, so Brandon's Stricker pick is still good, unless and until somebody picks Stricker at #1.  (Which may or may not have already happened)

No Matter ... I just don't understand (based on Brocks post just above) how in the world I'm going to get anything done tomorrow morning if I can watch Tiger and Phil on my work computer!

Luckily for me, I had 3 days of training from my corporate controller Monday through Wednesday, and I train a new jr accountant Friday some of the day, so tomorrow should be pretty slow :)

I agree the 2 over thru 6 will be a good score... anyone who starts on #9 Thursday or Friday will have better scores early in there rounds (only 9, 11, and 12 are really trap holes i.e. bogey/double bogey...) Birdie hole at 15 being just 154 yards... #16, 670 yards, par 5... 5 will be a solid score on that hole and 4 will gain you almost a shot (rumor has it Mike Davis has a couple of forward tees on 16, I think one at 625 and one at 570 (probably for Saturday) #17 you better make 4 at least twice in the championship... long right is dead with the chipping area... for anyone who wants to know the hole will play into the wind all four days... so the 505 tee may come into play...  #18 great short par-four... all you guys that think driving the green is in play better watch #7 if you wanna see that... The green is not as severe as in 1998 so birdies can be had... but 1-6 and 8 are going to be very difficult... 1 520 par 4 only saving grace is its downhill and downwill, 2 428 par 4 not as long but into the breeze... 3 247 par 3... (you may see more woods/hybrids into this hole than irons) 4 438 par 4 really fricking hard... 5 498 par 4... just stupid long... 6 489 par 4... fairway bunker(only one on the course) has been lengthened and I think deepened... I'd have to look... 7 is a hole you may see a couple eagles on, a lot of birdies, and pars.... I would be willing to bet anything that there will be more 3s at #7 among players who lay-up vs. players going for the green...  and #8 is an uphill 200 yard par 3 made more difficult by the new length (used to be just 135 yards)... And anyone who has entered the U.S. Open Prediction Contest will understand why I picked the winning score that I did... (hint: it's not 90 in San Francisco)

I think Phil will be in the zone the first two days and have the lead halfway.  The super grouping is perfect for him combined with his laser like focus during majors and his desire to win the US Open more than anything.  I really hope he gets it done

I hope Phil gets leprosy in his duodenum. I'm pulling for Tiger.

I second that.  I already root for him (actually I root for just about all of them), but after seeing the montage yesterday of his five 2nd place finishes, I am pulling for him even more.

By the way, the US Open app is live in the Android Market (and probably the iOS App Store as well), and seems like a pretty nice app.  I'm assuming the live video coverage of the featured groups will be available for that as well as their website.  4G, for the win! :)

Also going to try and sideload it onto my Google TV box and see if it works that way.
