Any active language is dynamic.  The world changes and language changes with it.  Latin is used for legal, scientific and medical purposes for the very reason that it doesn't change.  There is no worry that the meaning for a word today will be different tomorrow because of a slang bastardization.

On this line, I have long lamented the loss of a wonderful word.  That word is "gay".  Gay is supposed to be a homogeneous mix of happy, carefree, lighthearted.  It is a very specific description of a personality or character which has nothing to do with homosexuality, yet it has been stolen from the language, and there is really no appropriate synonym to replace it with.

Actually the word gay has meant 'homosexual' LONG before the word homosexual existed. There are references of it's use in that way from times before American independence.

I don't think that's accurate. Homosexual is a scientific term. It's pretty old.

Gay is from the times of Henry VIII. I'd bet homosexual is at most 100years old.

Just looked it up and the first reference was from a German pamphlet in 1869.

In fact THAT word was hijacked by the gay community as it originally meant anything with a single-gender context such as schools that only admit boys or only girls (we now use the English translation instead term - 'same-sex')

I'm sure to see perminate results it'll deffinately take awhile, but hopefully I see at least a diffrence in feel on my shots. I golf 18 every weekend and practice just about daily in my backyard so hopefully it takes a little less then 6 months, but we'll see what happens.

This one is for @jamo There's lots of other errors too but that deffinately takes the cake.

You know I see that I've been quoted twice in this thread, which is fine I realize I don't have perfect spelling, but I will say that if I went through your posts or anyone's really I'd find a myriad of mistakes. Spelling and grammar.

I try not to take much personally, just like golf when you have a bad shot, laugh at it and move on.
