Seriously. Unless you can beat Tiger, Webb Simpson, Jason Dufner, Jim Furyk, Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler, any number of superstars that'll debut between now and 2016, etc. (getting the point yet?), you're not making the team.

This isn't like one of those "I'm Making the PGA Tour, and That's That!" threads. You legitimately have to be one of the best 15-20 players in the entire world to make the U.S. Olympic golf team. 250 (or thereabouts) play on the PGA Tour every year (in one event or another) and another few hundred play on the Web.com Tour. The amount of people making the U.S. Olympic golf team will be in the single digits.

To use nevrino's example right above mine, even KJ Choi wouldn't make the U.S. Olympic team (if he was American), and he's about the most extreme "picked up the game late and turned into a star" example you could come up with. Here's another one: Ian Poulter would struggle to make the British team.

Seems to me that he's got what it takes and I wouldn't bet against him making the team.

Shorty, I was thinking the same thing. Once Jamo changed his avatar from the Jim on The Office, he became a hater and crusher of dreams. Where did Jim go?

Somehow that doesn't seem like a combination that would pass a safety audit.

it reminds me of wherever that phrase "deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other"

sometimes humans are capable of ridiculous things.

    • Day 4 (5 May 24) - mirror work focused on “feel of weight” transfer onto lead foot.  Continued work to develop trust in lead foot being able to handle full weight pressure…
    • Ok, so I’m still confused here. Are you saying I could have used the only available Spot in the bunker even though it was 6-7 feet closer to the hole?
    • Yes. If you choose to take the ball out of the bunker instead of taking maximum available relief… it costs a stroke.
    • I got another one today....Number 17. Par 5 that has water left and right on the layup. I smacked a drive down the left side and got a little lazy on the layup and fanned my 6 iron. With 112 to a crowned green I got it to 3 feet and birdie!  Only 5 and 15 is left for this year!
    • Maybe I didn’t explain this properly. Back and front can be confusing.  There was no place in the bunker that didn’t have 2-3 inches of rain water in it, except for a small spot on the slope nearest the pin. If I had dropped there I would be moving 6-7 feet closer to the hole. Since my ball was just inside the bunker, farthest side from the hole, I dropped one club length backward, which brought me out of the bunker. I could not have hit from that deep of water. Are you saying I would have had to take a penalty stroke due to rain water?
