..what golf equipment/item/etc would you love to try/get?

I'm happy with everything I have..but would love to try these:

Mizuno MP-8 golf balls (at $85/doz..*cough*)

At over $7 per ball these things better come with a remote control.  My game isn't good enough to risk losing one at that price.  I am holding off playing the Callaway Hex Black Tours I just got at $27.30 / dozen because I am still working on some swing changes and don't want to lose any.

Not with my game I wouldn't.  Even if they were the best balls ever I still shoot in the 80s or 90s and a ball, no matter how good, won't magically change that to make me the player that I was 20 years ago.

I think you guys are overlooking the, "if money wasnt a problem" aspect.  If money were no object, all of my golf gear would be JDM (Japanese domestic market).  Yes, its more expensive but the Japanese market in almost every instance offers equipment that is of higher quality and outperforms what we have available to us here in the states.  The reason for that is because the Japanese are willing to pay a little more for quality.  Thats why you almost never see cast irons and even in the case of drivers you see a lot of drivers with forged faces.

"If money wasn't a problem", I'm not so sure I wouldn't have the same basic equipment I have right now.  I would probably have the latest equipment, but I wouldn't necessarily change just to change.  I would for sure try out everything new, if it improved my game or felt better I would have it, but I would not have the latest just because it's the latest.  I would probably have a couple sets of irons also, I love forged blades, so I would have a set of Mizuno, Titliest, Miura, Taylormade and whatever else caught my fancy!

I love my setup right now.  If money weren't a problem I might bet a brand new set of wedges, 50˚, 54˚, 60˚.  But probably I'd use all my new free money and play much more often and at much nicer courses than I can afford right now!

Gold paint and shiny things are not indications of "quality". There is no difference in quality between JDM stuff and what is available elsewhere. As for "outperforming", again, that is nonsense. Please give one example.

The cost of equipment is such a small % of what I spend on golf over the life of that equipment, that the cost of that equipment doesn't even enter into my decision of what to buy. Don't misunderstand, I'm not wealthy, but if a $400 driver lasts me 5 years at 80 rounds per year, my cost is only $1 per round. If the driver I really want costs $600, I'm not going to balk at spending an extra 50 cents per round to get it......

If money wasn't an object, the only think I think I'd definitely get is Edel wedges and putter.

Oh, and I'd find out how much Mike or Erik would need for a retainer so I could have them on-call as a "concierge" instructor.

I always say that too, and then I remind myself that if money wasn't a problem I could also just stay in the most luxurious hotels in all of the vacation spots, so I think we'd just go for a house in Cali and an apt. in Manhattan.

If money was no object I'd have one gamer set, one game improvement set (similar but easier to hit), and I'd be using them on courses around the world, rather than thinking about them sitting in the back of my car and writing about them on the internet.
