Wow!  This is an old thread.  Finished my Motorcycle Safety Class 2 weeks ago, got 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 350 today. It had only 900 miles on it.  Some guy bought it for his wife, but she doesn't like sports bike and wanted a Harley.  So he sold it for cheap.

Looking forward to taking it out for a spin.

Nice bikes!  After I get use to the sports bike, I'll likely pick up a touring bike.

Thanks. Might I suggest you get a Sport-Tourer?  This will give you all the "sport" aspect you need, plus the advantage for overnighters. The full dresser, cruisers that I ride, are fine, but I can also see the aspects of the sport tourers.

Good point. Any recommendations on the model?

I have a 2015 HD LowRider...It's a fun ride and I put 10K on it in 18 months. It's the bike on the right with the windscreen next to my buddy's Street Bob.

I am really not the one to ask, as I've only "looked"at a few and read a bit about them. Of Course Ducati is one of the best.

@tourspoon I like the low rider as well. I once had a chance to buy a guy's Classic Deuce a few years back. I kick myself for not doing it. For the heavier cruisers, I like any of the 'glides.  RK is pretty good too.  Soft tails, Springers, not so much for me.

@Hacker JamesThanks, It's been a good horse. I recently rode the Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King back to back. I love the Street for the look, The Road Glide not so much but a better ride, and the King, well it doesn't have the fairing but it is a smooth machine. People I know that have the Road Glide swear by them and the fixed fairing as it takes the weight off the bars. They say you don't get blown off the highway like you do with the Street Glide in winds.

I hear that!  Once a long time ago, I had an ill fitting helmet, that when riding without  fairing, It would dang near de-capitate me! The wind would get under the short visor and it would ride back putting enormous pressure on my neck from the strap. Even with a fairing, one has to find just the right height to eliminate the wind buffeting. Usually, the height is much lower than you might imagine in as much as you would be looking over, rather than through the windscreen.
