with every single course in the pocono's locked down for the winter, played yesterday at Wild Turkey - N/E NJ ... chilly (low 40's), but sunny & clear.      Toughest part for me is the feeling of wearing all the constricting clothes necessary when the temps get low.     I think I have to abbreviate my backswing a bit & not try to take the usual swing because of the clothing - it is a distraction ... but hey, it's December golf - could be a foot of snow on the course ... can't complain, or likewise expect to shoot July scores while playing in a golf shirt & shorts.

Played today 12/15/12, temp 42* but no wind, what a nice day. Frost delay until 9:45am so we didn't get a tee time until 10:33. Yeah the leaves were doing their thing so finding balls was a bit of a problem. My partner and I were teamed with two nice guys. One thing about playing in the winter is that only the die hard golfers are out and they usually know how to play, makes the game that much more enjoyable. Course was in good shape but boy did they lose a lot trees thanks to Sandy.

I wear a UA  Cold Gear golf compression shirt with a UA Cold Gear golf mock and cold/wind vest.  I throw some UA runners Cold Gear Compression pants under my golf pants and if the wind is minimal it keeps me very warm without being bulky.  If it's windy I'll wear a wind jacket instead of the vest but that tends to be a little more bulky than I prefer.  Wild Turkey is a great course, how did you do?

I've tried compression wear, but I look like the stay-puff marshmallow man - never liked tight clothing.      Wild Turkey is a nice wide open course - hit more fat shots than I have year to date combined I think - swing just felt strangely uncomfortable all day ... scored at least 15 points over my avg.   Some nice shots mixed in with all the bad.    Nice brisk day though - no complaints for December.

I only use compression wear under regular or loose fitting clothes.   Wild Turkey is wide open but challenging.  At least you go out in December, I'm hoping to play this week, we'll see.

Played both Sat and Sun this past weekend. Temps around 50 both days, although Sun we had to deal with some mist and light rain, but the course was in great shape, my son and I both won some $$, and we didn't sit home watching the Giants be absolutely horrible, so it was win-win-win.

What is this compression wear? Doesn't sound too comfortatble being compressed. I just wear a double layer of polypro which is thin, soft, and warm, with a golf shirt and if necessary a light sweater or rain shell.

Yup. The best thing is he has started to hit it well again. I was starting to get a littel worried there.

Move! I love the mountains and countryside up there but could not take those winters...

No can do. Got a daughter and a business. Have to camp out here for at least 20 years.

I feel your pain, dak.  It's creeping towards low 60's, (even high 50's maybe next week!) so now I am considering buying a beanie to keep my ears cozy.  This cold weather stinks!
